Brain Teasers
Petrified
I was the son of a mighty man,
I did something great in a far off land.
This thing there was terrible to see,
With two sisters it was horror times three.
So what I did was I rid the land,
With some help from my fam.
One gave me a blade that was great, as you'll see, the other a shield to help me.
I killed the worst of three horrible things, although others behind me, stone was more their thing.
Who am I?

Answer
PerseusHe was the son of a God (Zeus, a mighty man if you ask me)
He killed Medusa on an island far from where he lived
Medusa was a terrible thing to see, and she had two sisters that were just like her.
He got help from his family, his brother Hermes gave him a magic sword that would cut anything, and his sister Athena gave him a magic shield, so polished that it was used as a mirror. He only killed Medusa, not her sisters, and all the people that had tried before him, failed, and turned to stone (petrified) when they saw Medusa.

One of a few that I knew the answer before clicking the link. Good one.
I rated this one halfway hard, cause *I* knew the answer right away...but i studied greek/roman mythology.....most may not have though....good job.
Now that was very clever. I got the answer because I love mythology. I'd say Medusa was having a very "bad hair day"!!!
I got this right cause I have spent 5 years studing mythology and it makes this teaser real easy.
