THE QUESTION OF, How long would it take for eight men to take all the apples from the same tree? THEIGHT MEN WOULD HAVE TO WEIGHT UNTIL THE NEXT PICKING SEASON TO TAKE ALL THE APPLES FROM THE SAME TREE. HAD THE QUESTION BEEN PHRASED, HOW LONE WOULD IT HAVE TAKEN EIGHT MEN....., GRAMMER CAN BE A PAIN IT THE SENTENCE, OR IT CAN SENTENCE YOU TO PAIN

If it had been "How long WOULD IT HAVE TAKEN" then the answer would be half as long, but the question was "how long WOULD IT TAKE". Very interesting example of how subtle and tricky English tenses can be.
