Brain Teasers
Belly Button
Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
One day a son walked up to his father and pointed to his stomach. "What is this?" His father replied, "It is your belly button. Everyone gets this after being born." Curious, the boy asked, "Do you have one?" The father replied no. How could this be?
Answer
The father was Adam. The belly button was used to feed the baby in the prenatal stage. If Adam was the first man he would have not been born and not needed a belly button.Hide Answer Show Answer

Interesting teaser.
Laaaaaaaame
Adam?
which Adam?
there are at least a couple million Adam's in the world......
any way, what would keep him from having a belly-button, and why do teasers have to be all religious

why wouldn't he have a belly button? how would you know if he didn't have a belly button? also i thought that it was reglar times. cause you didn't say any thing about time. you should have put a hint for us like " it doesn't have to be modern time but is is no tin the future" that may have helped. i was thinking, too how would they no what it is and y it is there?

that was a good one....i was stumped until i thought about it some more....i like how u included church in with ur teaser....that is awesome!!!!
come on you can do better don't bring religon into teasers just don't
you can bring whatever you want to into this site. there is no rule about no religion. if we can listen to stuff about being made from a dumb fish or a stupid ape and not complain then people should be allowed to have religous ones. Anyway no one who complained owns this site so they are just talking trash because they feel someone wants to hear from them.
I agree that this is really lame.
I don't care about religion being involved, this is silly either way.

Wow...I havev seen religion used in teasers before so i didnt think it mattered. I am sorry if i offended anyone but trickster2005 is right. And to explain the confusion of the teaser- We need bellybuttons when we're in our mothers stomach before we're born. Adam was the first so it states in the bible. That means he was never in his mother's stomach therefor not needing a bellybutton. See?
he could have also had it surgically removed or he could have had a different type of belly button from the boy. but i got it newayz...too easy
i hate it
it look interesting...but the answer kill it

isnt that er kinda racist?
I don't know why everyone is making such a big deal about it. I got it and I thought it was cute, zubbsy2. And why not bring religion into it? People get offended about religion and creation and make such a big deal over it. But when somebody stands up and refuses to believe that they came from a fish or a one celled animal or a monkey, nobody wants to hear about it. In my opinion the big bang theory goes like this : "GOD said it. Bang! It happened!"
P.S.-My brother's name is Adam! (But don't worry, he has a belly button)

interesting.
good one zubbsy2. keep 'em coming. Knowledge of a little early human history according to Jews/Christians/Muslims can come in handy.
I don't think its overly religious....almost everyone knows that story regardless of their religion. Good teaser.....don't listen to all these overly politically correct nuckleheads! Keep em coming!! Makes me want to submit a bunch of religious teasers just to get everyone bent out of shape!!!
thanks a bunch for those who support me lol. i didnt mean anything by it
nice!
laura0489 i agree with you and all others who dont think bringing religion into da riddle is a bad thing. anyways.i loved it.
So what if it has a religious feel to it! Without Christianity we would not have the music of Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Haydn and the like; or the art of Da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raphael; or the beautiful architecture that abounds throughout this world. It's a part of our culture and so why can't it be included in this forum? Clearly BigSwaff has a problem with it because he goes to great pains in airing his views on other 'religious' teasers. I don't believe there are any rules against 'religious' teasers, so I might just submit a swag of them now.
Thank you, Jazz.
I don't consider this teaser religious at all. No one seems to have a problem with teasers alluding to other literary works. I don't see anything wrong with this teaser either.
why cant he have a belly button?
You know, if the riddle ended with " *enter religion here* is garbage! Convert to Catholicism!", then these comments would have a point.
I've heard this one in a different context. Not too bad, but it's been done a lot

If we are made in the image of God and we have a belly button then I guess God has a belly button as well! That means Adam probably had one also.
When I read the teaser, I was confused and thought the son was pointing to his FATHER'S belly button, not his. Great work, though.
I said he was an alien, but that's probably because I watch the Sarah Jane Adventures, and was thinking of Luke.
OK, therefore the father was lying to his son about EVERYONE getting one.
There are some birth complications which can cause people not to have a belly button (more like a slight indent) So, that's what I thought of, instead of that. It should be a second possible answer.
