Famous Birthday
My birthday is on the pagan holiday for the darkest day of the year.
I was also delivered home from the hospital on one of the holiest birthdays in the Christian faith.
What is the day and holiday I was born on, and what is the day and famous birthday I was delivered home on?

Think snow.Answer
I was born on Dec 22. This is the winter solstice. Literally the darkest day of the year. The daylight is the least that it will be all year for the northern hemisphere, and pagans celebrated this day as the darkest day of the year.I was delivered home from the hospital on Dec 25. This is Christmas and also Jesus' birthday.

dpending on where you live, the Winter solstice may change, but if you live in the northern hemisphere, then the winter solstice is on DECEMBER 21ST.
Great teaser, a bit easy but that is how you start!!! Loved it....tis the season to be jolly....
yes poseidon you are partly correct. I knew that winter solstice was sometimes on the 23, but I never noticed the 21rst. I looked it up on google and found out that it is indeed on the 21rst sometimes, but generaly on the 22nd.

redraptor, I have seen your comments multiple times, so do you need to rate 250 teasers before you can submit one to get points! very annoying.

It was a pretty good one. One, the winter solstice begins on the 21, but you can say the 22nd, doesn't really matter. Secondly, the baby jesus was not born on December 25th. Not even in December. It is sometime in October
its ok poseidon. You had a valid question.
As for jesuses birthday. The comon knowledge is dec 25. If this is not true please provide proof to something that most people would deny.

Very nice! Merry Christmas.
Cool . I got the Christmas part , but not the winter solistice. hope you have a good b.day!
It is a nice riddle. But I cheated because I knew the answer!
smartypants01, I agree with you.
Achnid, you knew I was going to say something on this.
Jesus' birthday is celebrated on 12/25. Historical scholars and religious theorists have studied the Bible and generally agree that Jesus was NOT born 12/25. I got that info from a religious trivia book.
achnid, if you want the proof, you'll have to come visit me!
PS. for everyone else, achnid is my brother. currently overseas in the Army.

Good job and best wishes for the Holidays
i'm a wiccan, so i got this one real fast. and this year, yule falls on the 21st. shame i have to go to school that day...but anyways, the day symbolizes the rebirth of our god, often represented by the sun, because after that day, the days begin to grow longer and longer.
just some random info.

I found 1 site that makes some sense.

put a blank in there so I could post it
all the others are pretty much useless because of how they state what they say. most say the date he was supposedly born on with the hebrew calender. And they also say that its less days then our normal calender. Now they don't hev very clear concise thought proceses being shown on any page I went to other than the days shift and change. The only real clear thing is its been about 2005 years and that some of the records may be off from what people think.

that was fun, thanks
that was fun, thanks
Dec 25th is NOT jesus's birthday, nor has it ever been claimed to be by any christian church, rather Dec 25th is the celebration of Christmas...literally "Christ's Mass." The 25th was chosen as a day close to the pagan solstice, and the roman saturnalia, this was thought to ease the transition for people converting to christianity. According to most scholars, Jesus's birthday would have occured sometime in July.
