Book Reports - Who Read What?
Logic-Grid
Logic Grid puzzles come with a handy interactive grid that will help you solve the puzzle based on the given clues.Logic-Grid
Jessica, Matt, Chris, Ellen, and Tony are five students having the surnames Saunders, Alvarez, Mason, Tan, and Locke (not necessarily in that order) assigned to each read a different book and write a book report on them. But their teacher, unluckily, has forgotten which student is supposed to read which book! Help her figure out the students' full names, assigned books, and presentation dates from the clues below.
Students: Jessica, Matt, Chris, Ellen, Tony
Surnames: Saunders, Alvarez, Mason, Tan, Locke
Books: Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, Gone With the Wind, War and Peace, Oliver Twist
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
1. Jessica, Chris, and the girl reading War and Peace plan to write their reports together on Monday night.
2. The 5 students are Matt, the girl presenting on Wednesday, the guy presenting on Tuesday, the kid reading Gone With the Wind, and Chris Saunders.
3. No person has the same first and last initials.
4. Miss Alvarez is presenting on Wednesday, while Pride and Prejudice is being presented on Monday.
5. Locke is mad he is the first to present, but Chris is happy because he is last.
6. Miss Tan wanted to read either Jane Eyre or War and Peace, but Tony and Ellen wound up reporting them instead.

Easy but tricky, too. Good one!

Well done, didn't get half of it right though

nice teaser....good wind down after work.
thanx

I liked this one. Good work for the mind and fun too. Had to think a little, but I got it!

Pretty easy for my taste, but still fun. I like to use a little more grid and to have to read the clues twice.
Logic!!

Why are you writing"and Tony Saunders" at first?
first and last names - but not in that order. you're supposed to read it as ...Tony (space) Saunders..., not as "TonySaunders"

BRAINSTER!!! I can't believe you!!! If you're going to correct a teaser, make sure you do it right!!!
There are FIVE friends! You put "are four friends", then left my "are five students"!!!
That was supposed to be a CORRECTION!?!?!?

Finally! It's corrected!!!

matt locke... matlock...

was that intended?
Er...actually, no...

I got Jane eyer and war and peace switched somehow.
Fun teaser

Hehe, who would of guessed locke was a guy?
Great teaser, I enjoyed it a lot!

It said book and here I am. Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks!

Have you read Jane Eyre? It's a really good book. I didn't know anyone even knew about it anymore

Yep. That's my third favorite book, right behind Gone With the Wind and Pride and Prejudice!

Great puzzle. I was expecting it to be a bit harder but it was still good and interesting too.
I gave up after about ten minutes. Good teaser though!

I liked it. Just enough to get your brain going, but not enough to fry it!

Great teaser... not too hard, not too easy. I enjoyed it.
Didn't know if Chris was a boy or girl, but was delighted to find it didn't matter. It was plenty easy to solve anyway.

I enjoyed this. Appropriate difficulty, and fun, too.
By the way, in response to scallio, clue 5 (". . .Chris is happy because *he* is last.") specifies that Chris is male.

Nice teaser
Medium difficulty and really fun.
But I didnt get the hint.
Could somebody explain it to me?
Is it related to the grid?

Yeah, the two titles were too long for the grid to show, so I abbreviated them.

one of my new favorite teasers... liked the logic, but not too much to fry like someone else mentioned.
All of these happen to be books I read in seventh grade! Funny that. FUN!!!!

That was fun!

This was too easy! But it was still fun! Make more and harder!
Unisex names always bug me, but I suppose that is just part of the fun in solving. Not really relevant in this puzzle, but it can be a nuisance in others. Nice Job!
Pretty straightforward. Helped to work backwards, from the last clue to the first one.
