Brain Teasers
Lazy Sam the Journalist Part 5
Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
Sam, a journalist, had a deadline coming up for his news report, but he was too lazy to write a real one, so he made it up. He wrote that scientists discovered that, a long time ago, practically invisible space aliens landed on earth and now are killing humans! The next day Sam was, in fact, not fired! Why wasn't Sam fired?
Answer
All Earth creatures are in fact aliens, coming from carbon and other materials in space. The "aliens" were cancer cells; thus, they kill humans and are almost invisible.Hide Answer Show Answer

i said germs... close enough right?
yeah, all viruses or germs could count
That's a pretty vague, flimsy answer, but nonetheless, I got it.
i don't like that answer . you could have come up with one a little less horrible
horrible? it is science and nature it is not horrific.
didn't get it i said his boss wasn't there
I thought its cuz it happened...lol...but i dunt like the answer!
Sorta reminds me of War of the Worlds...
I thought he was writing for one of those papers that always write weird stuff like that
close enough?
close enough?
Cancer cells are not valid as Lazy Samantha's aliens as they don't exist until virus or mishap transforms a normal cell. They do not "land."
It is farfetched to consider yourself alien when the vast majority of your component atoms came from the single mass of god goop or star poop which "founded" Earth. The carbon atoms from that source did not "land" and subsequent arrivals have been relatively none.

If I remember correctly all living things are composed of CHON: Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen and Nitrogen.
I like this answer!

i know how u said dat the cancer cells were aliens, but in da brainteaser u siad SPACE aliens!
i would have fired Sam because next time, he should write an article everyone can understand.
Aren't cancer cells mutated cells? Then they wouldn't be alien!
Unless I was misinformed. That happens a lot.

"...but he was too lazy to write a real one, so he made it up." So, not true? I just figured he worked for the National Enquirer.
