Shoe Factory 2
If twenty people in a factory make 43 shoes in [(3)^0.5] / 2 hours, then how many shoes do they make in an eight hour day?
Hint
The number of shoes has to be an integer.Answer
43 shoes / (3)^0.5/2 = 86 shoes / (3)^0.5 per hour86/(3)^0.5 * 8 = 397.2

Solve a Puzzle

i thought it was (3^5)/2 not (3^0.5)/2. i didn't mention the dot (you type 0.5 -> .5). it was easy. you can solve it using ratio. let a be the number of shoes which have been made in 8 hours.
43:a=0.866:8
43x8=ax0.866
344=ax0.866
a= 344.866
a=397.22 (coz it has to be an integer the shoes have been made is 397)
20 people is no use.. a simple mathematic..

huh? i have no idea about integers and stuff.
No offense, but I've lost the will to live after doing that puzzle.
Try and make them a bit more challenging or fun if you can.
Thanks

How is this a teaser?
First, no explanation for why the number of shoes that can be made was measured for sqrt(3)/2 hours. To actually have any hope of making this an interesting problem I'd expect at least a strained attempt at a justification.
Second, it is a stupidly simple math problem.
Third, the fact that there are 20 people in the factory is immaterial.
Terrible excuse for a teaser...how this got approved is a mystery as is why it would have ratings over 2 for both difficulty and fun.
