Brain Teasers
Island Words
A boy called James gets stuck on an island after his rubber boat gets swept out to sea. The only way to get off the island is with a colour code. There are 5 bricks and 5 holes in a wall. On the wall next to the holes it says:
A colour is concealed in each of these sentences. Each hole is marked with an A, B, C, D, or E. Put the colour brick in the corresponding slot to the sentence:
A) Temper or anger are signs of weakness.
B) The money is for Edward.
C) You'll find I got it elsewhere.
D) One dancer, I see, is out of step.
E) I am a gent and lady's man.
What colour brick did James put in each slot?

I got tan for E.
magenta is the only one i got.
i think it a type of red, cerise
I got this: orange , red, indigo, magenta, ???. Close enough..... toooo easy then!!! Cause i can't solve ne teaser practicly!!! and I can't spell either!!!
I pulled the comments to see what the heck color CERISE is and it doesn't sound like anyone else is sure either.
Nice teaser.
Nice teaser.
i think its red. i looked it up on google.
Loved the teaser!! Cerise is a deep purplish red. I know 'cuz I'm married to an artist!
OK, unless James was an artist, and assuming he even got 'cerise', how would he be able to tell which brick was cerise and which brick was magenta? I know I wouldn't be able to identify which was which.
That aside, it was still a fun teaser!
i got all of them except 'cerise'- never heard of it before!
I love teasers like this, din't know about one of the colours though...
Anyway, nice one!
Anyway, nice one!
I got Cerise, but was unsure of myself.
I thought that it was a fruit.

What a great teaser. Loved it. Didn't do well, but enjoyed the challenge. Thanks for posting.
You are right npf2005 is like red.
I couldn't remember what "cerise" was, but it sounded familiar (like, maybe from way back in my Crayon days); so I got that one. But I also got "tan" for the last one.
I had fun with this, probably because I got them all right!!
I missed indigo, but the rest were quite easy. Nice teaser.
Orange is the only one I got in its place, Red, but the others I did not try. A decent teaser.
Since James actually has the five bricks it would be much easier because he would know which colours to look for.
Plus he only needs to get four of them right and the fifth can go wherever is left.
But he's not getting of the island alive anyway because he's obviously on the island from LOST.
Hehe fun teaser though!

I enjoyed the teaser, because I like colors; but I wasn't sure about cerise, either, but, it sounded good. I got 'em all, too.
I guess I'm just stupid today. I couldn't understand the instructions.
Sorry but how can anyone get the answer when there is no choice of color to choose from. I would have given the 5 colors and then ask to put them in the right order.
Easy peasy, got em all right away, love this type of teaser, thankyou
Cool teaser, thanks, please make some more!
I got them all, but I was asking myself "is cerise a color?" There was nothing else in D than looked like a color, so I concluded that cerise must be a color. In E, magenta was so obvious that I didn;t see tan.
"Cerise" is French for "cherry." Cherry red.
I goofed on magenta, so I think that's 3/4. Or 3/5, but I'm not sure it's fair to have a color like "cerise" that no-one's even heard of.
Great teas... oh wait, never mind, you MADE UP A COLOR NO ONE HAS EVER HEARD OF BEFORE!!! waste of time
This teaser is ALRIGHT.
