Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
In Seattle, Washington, USA, four people in the same group were waiting near the bus stop. The most popular of the four yelled "Bus Stop!" And they all charged toward it, as if they had seen it many times before. Unfortunately, one person was late for the bus stop, and was withdrawn from the group. Why?
Hint
This was no ordinary bus stop.Answer
They were playing a game of Foursquare. In Foursquare the "King or Queen" (the person standing in the special square) can call bus stop. All four of the players charge toward the center, and the last one there is out.Hide Hint Show Hint Hide Answer Show Answer

I have to say, it was really easy - but I think only because I read the topic with the rejected version in the forums
Glad to see it got through

Haha cute.
I didn't get it though...I've never played foursquare.

why would they be playing it in the rain
I'm sorry, I can't be polite about a puzzle, riddle, situation, whatever it is in a site that is supposed to encourage us to use our brain. I never heard of the game, don't care about it, and certainly get no fun from being "challenged" by a "situation" puzzle that I could not possibly solve through reasoning, or, in this case, even guessing. What is the point in a puzzle that relies solely on know a particular game????
Bestgirl, then ask yourself what the point of playing a game that uses a certain set of rules is?
What is the point of running only on a certain, set path?
It's basically the same thing - you do it because it poses a challenge. If you don't know the answer, from then on you do!
What is the point of doing teasers or questions based in certain countries? I have toruble with american riddles. Why don't we go as much as what's the point of riddles restricted to this planet? Solar system?
Where would it stop?
They pose a challenge, and there are no rules that state what is good and what is not, at least not in the terms of what subject is good besides explicit things.
You're being ridiculous.

I had never heard of this game.
Bestgirl is understandably frustrated because at times there are teasers that are not "solvable". This is not one of those as some people will have played this game and will know the answer.
This is an American and/or English language site so although we have guests from all around the world, the teasers should have answers that are considered recognizable in the USA, UK and Australia. If it isn't a widely known concept then it shouldn't be in a teaser.
We tend to see a lot of Situation and Letter-Equation teasers that appear to be from another planet. The answer is available to only a miniscule fraction of the population. Some Letter-Equation teasers are so obscure as to be obsurd and some Situation teasers have a multitude of possible answers.
While I can see that a few people will know the answer to this teaser, I can appreciate bestgirl's frustration for some teasers.

lol..i still havent understood what the purpose of the game is..i think its just not played here in India..so any Indians trying to attempt this brain teaser..give it up already!!
I played foursquare when I was in elementary school. It's like handball or wallball, but with people standing in four big squares.
Foursquare is my favorite playground game. I play it whenever I can. I suggest everybody else plays it too.
bestgirl-

Finally, a person who understands the game!
Sorry but I only played Kick the Can, and Red Rover. Nice try though. I do understad some of the frustation of the comments, but at least ou gave it a good try.
Wow, what a nice comment...
You did a nice job working this through the reviewers- Good Job!
I also played four square as a kid and it was my favorite game too, although we never had the bus stop part

oh well, at least you got o play the game!
In all the times that I've played four square during recesses and summer vacations, I have never heard of this "Bus Stop" rule. Obviously my friends hadn't either. Maybe this is just a regional thing?
I have heard it everytime I have played foursquare. But whenever I play bustop mode, everybody begs me not to do bus stop, because they don't like it.
Bus stop? This has got to be the lamest riddle I have ever heard. That is not how you play foursquare, and if you disagree with me you are an idiot and therefore wrong.
Bus stop is not in every game of foursquare. Only if you choose to play the bus stop way, the other players have to agree, which they usually don't...It isn't just something you pull out of the blue, the other players have to agree with the rule before you play the game.
I thought Calmsaviour was a fan of the Hollies.."Bus stop wet day she's there I say please share my umbrella!? Anyway it makes about as much sense as the random answers claimed to be the "correct" ones for may of these feeble situation teasers. The whole point of situation teasers is to use misdirection so that when the SITUATION is discovered, it immediately should become obvious that it is the most logical answer but you just weren;t thinking of the right situation. There are some very clever ones here if you can sift through the randomness.
I KNEW IT
I never heard of foursquare before, but that doesn't mean this isn't a good teaser! It's as if someone had never heard of Sherlock Holmes complaining about a mystery teaser.
A teaser like this excludes the majority of people from being able to solve it no matter how "smart" you are, so I think there should be a disclaimer of some sort telling you this is a part trivia question. Tell me what you guys think.
cogmatic: Idon't play 4square with that rule either, but be mature and stop calling people idiots
