Once, a blind man walked into a restaurant. Another man, Tom, asked the blind man, Jerry, what food was on his plate. Jerry told him he was blind, so Tom told him to smell it. Jerry then told him he also lost his sense of smell. So Tom told him to taste it, and Jerry then gave his answer. Tom didn't believe him though. Why?
Hint
The food contained no basic tastes, such as salty, sour, etc.Answer
If you lose your sense of smell, you also lose your sense of taste. If the unknown food had none of the basic tastes, then Jerry wouldn't have had a clue what the food was.Hide Hint Show Hint Hide Answer Show Answer

Its an okay teaser and really easy but it should say "The blind man told him he'd lost his sense of smell" no "sense of taste."
Yeah I reported that it's in the queue now.
somewhat questionable, in that many foods are indentifible by texture. Tapioca certainly seems one that would be.
Too easy! Man any one with half a brain would know that!
It is a ok teaser
beyond dumb.
I don't get it, I guess!
I don't get it.
well you dont lose ALL of your taste...but most of it. good teaser
The sense of smell is strongly connected with your sense of taste.
This is why when you have a cold/allergies/sinusitis or an upper respiratory infection your sense of taste will be off (because the inside of your nose where your receptors for smell are located are irritated/inflamed/blocked).
