Again a solution is required, and again I have to disagree with this answer. I can see how you got it, but you should have specified where he started timing himself from. You say the poles are ahead of him, and it takes 24 seconds to reach a particular one. Not it takes him 24 seconds from passing the first one
Umm this riddle's answer is incorrect... just though you would like to know the answer is actually 40
you start counting as you reach the 1st post, and then on to 20, a total of 19 gaps between the poles at a rate of 2.1818...seconds per gap.
Nice riddle. However, technically the answer is 41 seconds and 45/99 parts of a second (although this rounds to 41.45 seconds). It may have been better to either ask the reader to round off, or more simply choose numbers that give 'cleaner' answers (like say 20 seconds to get to the 11th pole, in whcih case the answer would be 38 seconds flat). Nevertheless this was an enjoyable riddle.
and i thought it was 17.45 only because i was thinking he meant after the twelveth pole. My Bad
I did get the 41.45 answer but that was making the assumption that you were starting timing from the first pole you pass. I believe this could have been specified in the teaser for clarity. Good one though, a few little traps and snares if you aren't on the ball.
Hmmm ... "Mad Ade times himself" ...
That's a scary mathematical concept: Mad-Ade squared. Is that how he comes up with these teasers?
