9, 46, 23, A, 58, 29, 146, B, 366, C, 916...

Find A, B and C.

Find A, B and C.

### Hint

This is a recurrence relation, but it has 2 different processes, depending on whether the previous number is even or odd.B and C are easier to find than A.

### Answer

If the previous number is even, then divide by 2 to find the next number. If the previous number is odd, then multiply by 5 and add 1.A = 23 x 5 + 1 = 116

B = 146/2 = 73

C = 366/2 = 183

Great teaser!

You could easil get this right without knowing the odd/even condition. You just need to have to know the existing relation between the number before, and after the letter.

Nice one.
