I immediately thought " a lot of luck" but it was so obvious I thought I must be on the wrong track! A double bluff! lol!
Hey, Marp .....
I'm STILL laughing. The rebus I identified (in my submittal) was "lots of luck" - as in a 'bunch' of luck, not in 'lots' as tracts of property. Apparently that discombobulated the Eds.
The Eds changed that to ... "a lot of luck". Evidently they are still wrestling with what to do about 'multiples' of things, e.g. 'lucks' (s's) and such and 'fours' for 'fors' things.
I wrote one of the Eds asking for a clarification policy rule on use of s's and she never answered.
At least ... the Eds are always good for a laugh - even if my Rebuses sometimes aren't.
So ... no 'double blind' intended (as you mentioned) .................. FUNNY !!!! FUNNY !!!

I have no complaint with the editors and greatly appreciate all they do. I will admit, that my answer to this was "lots of luck". It is possible that the familiar idiom is different for different people.
See, SD ... you 'nailed it' with "lots of luck".
Too bad the editors didn't have the necessary creative problem-solving 'eye' to see the difference.
We too, appreciate what the Eds do ... (what a LOUSY role to have to fill) ... but often take them to task on their decisions. They are sometimes DEAD wrong !!!
And even in the RARE (E-X-T-R-E-M-E-L-Y so) instances when we have gotten them to change one, they always retort with something like, "we see your point", or "yes, it's shown on the net as an idiom but we feel it's not in common use". Then when we ask them for their standard about 'commonality' we get a traditional "five Editors agreed on it so that's the decision".
We always interpret that as ... "Shut up and go away".
We have NEVER, NEVER (nor have we heard of such) had an Editor admit they were wrong and said so with an apology.
