Brain Teasers
The Five Bottles of Fate
One day, a man had died, but God found that he had done an equal number of good deeds and bad ones and didn't know which way to send him. So, God created a set of five differently shaped bottles with five different consequences (one will allow the man into heaven, one will send him "down below", one will send him back to earth, and two would do nothing). The bottles were set up in a line and a small note for him to test his mind was attached to the first bottle. The man saw this and noticed that each bottle was in single column away from him, rather than in a row. He read the note, which said:
Two alike you'll never find,
next to each other in this line.
Twixt these may be good or bad,
depending on the lifestyle you've had.
The first to you that's in this line,
will be the first to your demise.
In midway you'll find, it seems,
a second chance to do your deeds.
At last you'll find your sweetest reward,
for tis what you're searching for.
And now, my reader, it's up to you,
Which little bottle should he choose?
