Weird Ribbons

Fred, Bob, and Tom were in a contest to decide who had made the best butter cow (a statue of a cow made entirely out of butter) for the Iowa State Fair. The ribbons were not typical in that the color of the ribbons for the top three places were green, orange, and purple, although not necessarily in the order. Using the clues, determine what place they finished in (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) and what color ribbon they received.

1. Fred finished after Bob.
2. Tom did not get second place.
3. Only Tom got a ribbon with a color that did not share any letters with his name.
4. The purple ribbon is for a later place than the green ribbon.
5. The complementary color for the first place ribbon is blue.
