The Christmas Party

The Thompsons were hosting a Christmas party that 5 adults and 5 kids attended. They decided to have gifts be exchanged at their party! Each adult would give each child 1 present, and receive 1 present from that child. One of the Thompson children (who was not participating in the gift exchanges) sneaked around town to figure out what each person was giving and getting because he could not think of anything except for the party and had to find something to do before he went crazy with anticipation! While he was sneaking around, he couldn't be carrying a pen and paper with him (they would be too loud!), so he had to memorize certain facts. Can you help him assemble the list adults, children, and gifts?

Adults: Harry, Derek, Zack, Amy, and Grace
Children: Rose, Ashley, Brittany, Tom, and Charlie
Gifts given to children: Toy Car, Mini Dartboard, Candy, a Basketball, and a Baseball Bat
Gifts given to adults: CD, a Hat, a DVD, a Book, and a T-Shirt

1. The Adults are: Harry, the one who gave a present to Tom, the one who gave candy, the one who received a T-Shirt, and Amy.

2. The children are: Rose, the one who received a present from Zack (who isn't receiving a book), the one who gave a Hat, the one who received a Toy Car, and Charlie.

3. Derek is not going to give a present to Tom (who won't give a CD).

4. The boy that will receive a baseball bat will not give an article of clothing.

5. No man is giving candy to any of the kids.

6. Charlie hates baseball, but will love his present!

7. Ashley is giving a present (which isn't a CD or a DVD) to the adult that shares her first initial.

8. A basketball will be given by the person who will receive the CD.

9. Rose will not receive a present that involves throwing anything.
