The Magic Trick
A boy was putting on a show called 'Winter Magical Tricks'. Today he only wanted to put on one show.
The audience had to guess how he did it, and if they got it 100% right they could win up to fifty dollars.
The magician gave a volunteer from the audience 5 twenty-cent coins. Each of the coins was identical except for the dates. The magician then walked off the stage while the volunteer put the coins in the cup. Then the volunteer took out a coin, noted the date, and then held it tightly in his hands. When the magician came back on to the stage, he started to ask the volunteer questions. This is how the following questions were answered:
'What is your name?'
'Harry.'
'How old are you?'
'13.'
'What is your favorite food?'
'Chocolate'.
'Do you think you're about to get 50 dollars for deciphering this trick?'
'I don't think so.'
Then the volunteer put the coin back in the cup while the magician was turned the other way. The cup was then given to the magician, who dumped the coins into his hand.
'According to this, the coin you were holding was made in 1892.'
'How did you do that?'
Can you decipher how the magician worked this out?

Hint
It has nothing to do with the questions.Answer
The boy's hands warmed the coin up. Since this was the "Winter Magical Tricks" show, the coins were initially cold. The magician simply noted which coin was the warmest.Hide Hint Show Hint Hide Answer Show Answer

Did they have 25-cent coins in 1892? Forgive my ignorance on that. If they did, I believe them to be worth a lot now and I wouldnt be handing them out to strangers.
I saw this in a book. Wayyy too easy.
Yes, I know it's pretty easy, but I think it's a good one anyway.
Now I think about it, I'm not sure if they had 5 cent coins in 1892.
oh wow, it is 20 cent coins. Never even heard of those.
Wow, and I thought I was kinda figuring it out... I thought he had a "volunteer" give him code.
Cuz there are 5 letters in Harry... and add that to the age of 13 to get 18 - the first two numbers.
And then Chocolate has 9 letters in it... so that's the 3rd number.
And then I guessed that the last word in the answer to the last question had the number of letters equal to the 4th number.
