Lucy looked outside on Friday morning to see snow on the ground. She was so excited - it was the first snowfall of the winter! School was delayed an hour that morning as the town plowed the four inches of snow off the roads. She looked forward to school with keen anticipation. She couldn't wait to chat online with her Northern friends during her study block. When she compared notes with them, it turned out that each of her friends had gotten snow that week, though all from different storms on different days - even different amounts! Determine the full name of her friends, where each of them lived, and on what day and how much snow each got.
1. The five friends were, in no particular order, Alice Parker, the person who lived in New York, the person whose last name is Smith, the person who got snow on Thursday, and the boy who got one inch of snow.
2. Five inches of snow fell in St. Paul, but not on Thursday. Harold lived in New York, but he didn't get snow on Wednesday. Jay got snow on Friday.
3. Gregory, whose last name wasn't Trip, didn't live in Cleveland. Mr. Ward didn't get snow on Tuesday. Brenda did not live in Chicago.
4. One town got two inches of snow on Monday. The person who got snow on Tuesday lived in St. Paul.
5. The girl from Richmond got the same amount of snow as Lucy did. The person whose last name was Trip got snow on Thursday.
6. Gregory got one inch less of snow than the person who lived in Richmond, but he got two more inches than the person whose last name was Crombie.

very nice teaser. I took a gamble when I noticed the pattern on the grid and won.
Clever! Very enjoyable!
It was a great teaser. The pattern was cool but it became a lesser challenge when I found the pattern. Keep it up though. You did a great job and I understood it well. Thanx 4 the fun.
Good job!
I noticed the pattern early but kept going without assuming that the pattern continued throughout the puzzle. It was still very easy, but fun.

I liked this puzzle the first time I did it...on puzzle.com, which is my other source for these types of puzzles...can't we avoid the redundancy?
had a little bit of trouble . . . didn't notice a pattern, though--I guess I wasn't paying enough attention to the graph!
I was happy to see the big grid and was having fun until I saw the pattern..
I enjoyed it a lot, despite the fact that when I looked a the answer I had perfect diagonal stripe patterns. You gotta watch how you enter those group members! I still rated it as very good.
It was pretty easy but cute. I was wondering why you didn't put the week days in order until I saw the pattern. I tried to ignore the pattern and solve it with out it, otherwise I would have missed the fun of solving it
well i put the pattern because when i made it it took me a long time to figure it out so i thought u guys would have problems with it so i just made the pattern maybe next time i wont make a pattern

Groups should be entered in alphabetical or numerical order, as appropriate, NOT according to the answer.

it was fun. even though it was a pattern it was not visible till the near end and I was thinking you might have changed it up to trick everyone that was going by pattern.
