Playing Cards
You are holding some playing cards, you have 1 queen, 2 diamonds, 3 aces and 4 spades. What is the minimum amount of cards you could have if no card is repeated?
Answer
Seven. You have 2 diamonds and 4 spades, giving you at least 6 altogether. The queen can be either of those 2 suits, but as there are 3 aces, 1 has to come from a different suit, giving you a 7th card.Hide Answer Show Answer

would you car to elaborate coz i really dont get this teaser at all how can you have 7 cards when you just said you 10 cards answer let me know
shouldn't the answer be 6??? as u have QUEEN, 2 OF Diamonds, 3 aces and 4 of spades..... so 1+1+3+1 = 6
it says you have 2 diamonds, not the 2 of diamond, same with the spades, 4 spades not 4 of spades.
ok bluebon, try this i hope it helps.
Queen of diamonds, ace of diamond, ace of hearts, ace of spades and 3other spade cards, altogether 7 cards, but with all the requirements of the teaser.

Here's how it works ya'll... why don't you go and get a deck of cards...
Here's what you do, and I'll ellaborate the whole thing so you understand:
1. Get all the queens out of the deck
2. Get all the aces out of the deck
-okay, it said that you have 1 queen and three aces...
3. Take out all the queens but one, which could either be the queen of spades or the queen of diamonds.(but to make the explanation quicker and easier to understand, let's assume you kept the queen of diamonds.)
- it said that you have 2 diamonds and 4 spades... since you kept the queen of diamonds, you already have one diamond leaving you to only need one more.
4. Take out one ace... make it the ace of clubs or the ace of hearts, it doesn't matter.
- That leaves you with the ace of diamonds, the ace of spades, and either the ace of hearts or clubs.
(Let's calculate: You have the queen of diamonds left which covers up for the one queen and one of the two diamonds. You have three aces left, which is the ace of diamonds, ace of spades, and either the ace of clubs or hearts, which covers up for the three aces and the other diamond and one spade. All in all you have four cards.)
~ Let's look back on the problem: 1 queen(check), 2 diamonds(check), 3 aces(check), 4 spades... you only have one... therefore the last step
5. grab three more spades out of the deck of cards... it doesn't matter which numbers as long as they're all spades
6. You add those remaining three spades to the four you already had and you add it up... which as you will see gives you seven cards.
Hope that cleared everything up...

2 of the aces can't be the same suit
there are 4 spades and 3 diamonds therefore there are at least 7 cards in the pile. he didnt tell you what each card is worth. it should be in the trick catagory! well done.
It does not say the cards are from 1 standard deck, only "some playing cards", so 6 would be the minimum. 2 aces of spade, 1 ace of diamond, 1 queen of diamond, and 2 other spade or whatever combination you want.
It also says no card is repeated, so you cant have 2 ace of spades!
