There's no accounting for taste. This one's not rating well but I loved it. You get a pun, a well known saying and the implication of something that costs a cent. bravo!
Hehe, thanks Jimbo. I have to say I was surprised to see the pop. on this one so low. I personally thought it wasn't so bad (not that I'm biased of course ;) ). Oh well, each to their own.
I liked it to d^2. maybe some people rate it low because they don't think torque sounds like talk Good one anyway
Cheers Smithy.
I have a question. Could this not also be "a penny for your thoughts?" Because thoughts will change the world, being the turning force, and then 1 cent being the penny.
Personally I would have felt that that answer is a bit of a stretch getting from the body to the answer. It is a very lateral and in depth thought process to get from "A turning force" to "your thoughts" in my opinion. Thanks for your thoughts though ;) .
I must apologize, but torque and talk are not really that close to be homonyms. It's a little too much of a stretch. Nice try though. You'll prolly tell me that I should try submitting my own teasers and then I'll be better able to judge them, but that's only because you don't know how to take constructive criticism.
What!!! I missed this little gem on my teaser... bah! Witness, I have been taking constructive criticism on this site since I arrived here so I think your view is a little incorrect, however I will allow you to have it, unlike you who would appear to force your view onto me. You see if you knew anything about the site and the amount of teasers I had submitted you would know just how much criticism I have had to take, which is of course the only reason I would recommend you submit some of your own, but seeing as you appear to claim to be quite wise in this area already, there's not much point in pointing that out I guess, well except for the benefit of those out there who would like a well rounded view .
that was a stretch,, but the comments were to die for
Hahaha... ah yes, sometimes the comments are far more entertaining than the teaser.
Only because you're from New Zealand are "torque" and "talk" pronounced homophonously.
...as they are in Australia and the UK, too.
