Grrr...I hated these things on exams in college / high school! I did get pretty close on this one tho!
I was looking for the trick Good one!
There are more than one solution. I found another.
Then tell me what it is.
Mathematically, there can be only one solution. The last four totals being 15, 13, 12, 11. You can't lower 11, any other shifting would result in two students with the same score.
I was also looking for a trick and the answer was stairing at me. Good one!
Loved it, great brain food
Yay I got it right!
But I don't get the hint! Good thing I didn't need it.

Bab, Beb, Bib, Bob and Bub, can you say that 5 times fast?
decent, but I don't really like those.

ang10186 never told you the other way . was somebody bluffin?
Knowing exactly Who got what grade/score doesn't seem possible. It might be easier to determine the overall score from the one given (24) highest score, but I don't see how you brilliant people can derive at an exact score for each participant for each subject. What is the scoring system used? If there are any Brave scouts out there with serious Mathematical skills, email me with the solution? you can remain Unknown
You have to figure out the score distribution first. Once you know what scores each person got, you can then determine the subjects for the scores. Since Bab had four 5's, and Bub had the 5 in Physics, Bab had 5's in all other subjects, with the 4 in Physics. Knowing that Bob got a 4 in History, Beb, who had three 4's, had them in Biology, Math, and Geography. Bub's 3 in Biology, left Bib the other four 3's in the other subjects, and his 1 was in Biology. Bub had three 1's in the three other subjects not named for him, leaving the 1 in Physics for Beb.
