Brain Teasers
A Phone Call Away
Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
A man had flown to Chicago on a business trip. In the hotel, he couldn't sleep. So, he called someone on the telephone provided in the room, and once the person hung up, he fell sound asleep. The caller didn't even know the person on the other line. Who was the mystery person on the other end of the phone?
Answer
The mystery person was the neighboring hotel guest. He had been snoring, and the man called him to tell him that. He stopped, to let the man fall back asleep, then he too, fell back asleep.Hide Answer Show Answer

I did Not Get It Ontill I Saw The Answer.
I got this because my teacher read it to us last year. It's a good teaser.
in my faves
this one was really funny, living in a house of snorers gave me intimate appreciation for this
i also thought it was a hypnotist. boy was i wrong. cute!
I didn't get it till i saw the answer. really really loud snoring is annoying (i snore too)
hi andy nice teaser i liked it alot but i already heard that 1
Good one! I had guessed he called the room next door to tell them to turn down the TV/radio.
I was way off I thought he called for a wake up call then could fall asleep peacefully I liked it though because I know how it is to sleep next to a snorer
I agree with Peppa!
Very clever. I first thought it was the speaking clock or something but that didn't make sense. Then I thought maybe there's a dial-a- hypnotist service but that seemed far-fetched. So I looked at the answer and it's quite realistic. Old buildings in England often have thin walls. (But an English person would be less likely to ring and complain, more likely to just lie then getting annoyed and write a bad review later... Trust me I've lived there)
