Brain Teasers
50+50
When does 50+50=75?
Answer
When you are calculating percentages. For example, if an item is originally $100, and goes on sale, 50 percent off, and you have a coupon for an additional 50 percent off, then the total is 75 percent off.

I almost got it right. Great teaser.
A good 'trick' teaser, bjut i wouldn't like my primary (or other) math students reading it!
Good teaser. tricky but good.
If you want to get technical, you should say negative 50, (-50)
for 50% OFF.
for 50% OFF.
Phoooo!
The old version, where you add 50 dollar coins to 50 half-dollar coins for sum of 75 dollars, is better.

I don't know about this teaser but it doesn't seem like math.
Oops, I started calculating bases, then I realized it wouldn't work because of the zeroes at the end. Good Job!
I just used them as vectors and gave them a direction so the resulting vector had a distance of 75. Meaning you need an angle of approx 97.18 between them.
On the basis of Math symbols, equations and problems, this teaser is not logical. Maybe you meant something else.
Shouldn't this be on the trick section? Didn't get it , I thought it'll be somehow related to some symbols and stuff
Tricky!
Nice principle, the way it's set out is both wrong and confusing though. However, as I cannot figure out a way to correct it, it will stay as-is.
I think this belongs to the trick category. Besides, it should be (1-50%)*50%. Sorry.
haha good one i almost had it right though...
