Fred has to get a pair of shoes re-soled.
Ed has to get duplicates for three keys.
Ned needs two pairs of shoes to be resoled.
They find a shop that cuts keys and resoles shoes and had two members of staff that were not busy.
The shop advertises:
Keys cut for $2 only takes five minutes
Shoes resoled $10 per pair only takes fifteen minutes.

ACTUALLY, I GOT 25 MINUTES....BOTH WORKERS DO FRED AND NED'S SHOES AT THE SAME TIME ---15 MINUTES...THEN BOTH WORKERS DO ED'S KEYS....ONE DOES TWO OF THEM AND THE OTHER DOES ONE....BUT SINCE THEY ARE ONLY FIVE MINUTES....YOU ADD TEN BECAUSE THEY CAN WORK AT THE SAME TIME....
magas009, you have missed the fact that there are 3 pairs of shoes for the people to resole. The quickest way to do these is to get one person to do two lots of shoes while the other person does a pair of shoes and the keys. This adds up to 30 minutes.
If you add the extra pair of keys onto your figures you end up with 35 minutes.

This is the most ridiculously easy puzzle we've had. I was looking for a catch--there wasn't one!
I agree with Peter. Simple, was looking hard for a catch but there wasn't one.

hi could i get any more dumber....im sorry....maybe thats what i get for staying up late!!!
Peter & Yogi, Why were you looking for a catch you should have been looking for the answer!
To the two looking for a catch... Maybe you should look at the Category: Logic... ok... and to Madaxeman i believe... you really should check everything out before you put down the teaser since the answer is correct that charlieangel has... 15 min. to do all the keys.. in the same time one pair of shoes are done... leaving two pairs each taking 15 min... since there are two ppl... they both get done... 15 plus 15 is of course 30. sorry if i'm coming off rude here but i am sick of people that are attacking teaser when the teaser and answer are right.
was not that hard, it was on the radio yesterday
hey there, it's way too easy, maybe a catch would make it more interesting! should be in the math category. peace. = )
Actually there is a catch, that even the Teaser didnt understand.
Since it said " Fred needed a pair od shoes resoled" and Ned "Had 2 pairs of shoes to be resoled", I take it Ned had Freds shoes with him. so there was only 2 pairs total.
so the total is: 20 (becasue one key was a Safe key, and by law cant be duplicated.)
So easy!! tsk tsk
