Double Trouble
On my own I am double and can support myself,
With another I'm trouble if I've undone myself.
What word am I?
With another I'm trouble if I've undone myself.
What word am I?
Answer
BRACE (A Brace is a pair of something. To BRACE yourself is to support yourself. You'd be in trouble if a pair of BRACES came undone, your pants would fall down!)Hide Answer Show Answer

That was "stretching" it a bit, don't you think. Most of us refer to them as suspenders.
Fair comment, but I am British ( I did add Pants instead of trousers, lol!)
i've never met someone british?!
"negative" kind of works but it doesn't make much sense,
Tricky but I like it. Speedyg1000 - Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it's negative. Expand your word power man! ;-)
no... i mean that "with another i am trouble and i undo my self." that is like a negative. a double negative in a sentence, like I don't have nothing, undoes it self and means i have something.
As much as I don't want to perpetuate this difference of opinion, it's actually "with another i am trouble IF I have undone myself"- (not and) as in an undone button or in this case undone Braces. I can't see no double negative(lol)
