There is blood everywhere! I can't... I... I don't know what's going on. All I can do is write in here... there are even blood stains on my pages! I'm next... I'm the only one left... I hear them... the thirst for blood...it's... oh my god!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Before Shadow could finish his statement, a chilling shriek came from the hallway. You all rush out side of the dining room doors to see what happened. There lay six dead bodies, and a maid looking down upon them. Benjamin Shadow stepped forward slowly, with a horrified look upon his face.
"These people are... Animalmage... tommysmo... vlerma... V_bapat... zigthepig... and becka. I invited them, but they never did show up... I just thought... I just... thought maybe they couldn't make it."
"How did these people get here?" you think to yourself. You step forward, timid. "Obviously they were here when they died, but how did they die? And why? And by whom?"
Everyone stares at the bodies in silence, then up at each other.
There is just one thought in everyone's minds, "One of them is the killer, just has to be... but who?"
"Who wasn't with us at dinner?" you asked.
No one spoke up... no one knew... did they?

So... If the people that died were the ones that weren't at the table, and weren't those also the inactive people?
So then... Would it be the inactive people that just weren't at the table altogether, making the killer one of the inactive people?
Or maybe it's just more complicated than that...
Hrm... Mysteries..

hmm, i reckon that sounds a bit too easy. the last part makes me think, but its still confusing

My biggest question has been who is this person in this writing for this round and the previous ones?
I think it is the boss, and here is why: I bet the boss or "killer" in this game or story is schizophrenic. The boss "hear[s] them...the thrist for blood." That kind of indicates that "the voices" are telling him or her to do stuff, mainly kill everyone else, sort of like Norman Bates or Jack Torrance.
OR, my second theory, but less awesome, is that this is a person that is being cleared; in this case, he or she is "the only one left" meaning she feels alone. He or she alos "hear[s] them...the thirst for blood" meaning the rat and boss are coming to get him or her.
Either way, we should focus on the part that states, "All I can do is write in here...there are even blood stains on my pages!" [this also makes me think this is schizo-boss like]. It might be a clue that points to an individual. We can that sort out what he or she is later.
Edit to add: Here are all the ppl that list "writing" as something under their hobbies:
lDSwordpainter
GreenApples
Dolphingurl
Alli-Palli
I'm going to cast a vote, for now, on ldswordpainter right now...he [or she, I don't remember] hasn't posted a alot.

I believe jtolley may be onto something when suggesting the boss could be ldswordpainter. Ldswordpainter has not posted, but has not been fired. So, either she has been voting without ever posting, or she is the boss. My vote is for her.

What about gizzer? She's posted all of three times in 2 rounds. Calculated amount, or just quips to keep Active?

So no one was fired. That is very surprising.
As I said last round, if everyone voted as indicated, then eflover4ever68 cannot be the Boss - there would have been a definite majority. If eflover was cleared in any case, why not take the opportunity to fire some lemmings? This makes me wonder if some people backed off their vote without saying so. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen it happen.
There were 10 declared votes for eflover. Let's assume 1 vote came from the Rat. That leaves 9 declared votes. If only 3 of those votes were changed because people were afraid of being a lemming, then there would be 6 votes for eflover, not quite the more than 50% required to end the game if eflover were the Boss. Unless those 3 players all voted for the same player, the next majority would be the votes from empy and GreenApples for rainbowboy. If either of those players had been fired, we'd know that eflover was the Boss. So perhaps that is why no one was fired.
Generally speaking, unless I have some reason to believe that people lied about their votes, I will accept what they say. If people lie about their votes (or don't declare their votes), they are helping the Boss, so I hope that people will be honest. Therefore, I will drop eflover to the bottom of my suspect list.
I agree that it is interesting that ldswordpainter didn't post but survived the round. Not posting doesn't necessarily mean that she didn't vote. She may not have thought it important, considering the number of votes for eflover. I haven't played enough games with her to know if she usually posts a lot or not.
It is also possible that ldswordpainter is the Rat, who can also survive without voting.
I did some research on LDS to see if anything from the diary clues could be connected. I discovered that the early headquarters for LDS was in Kirtland, Ohio.
In Round 2
Ohio would be a much more subtle clue for LDS - it was rather too obvious that eflover is from Ohio.
In this round
Could this mean the blood of Christ?
Unless a better interpretation comes along, I will vote for ldswordpainter.

Interesting thinking Gizzer. I didn't think about the connection between LDS and Ohio. I'm glad you thought of that. I also agree with Elios that it would be bad strategy for the boss to not post like that, but I really have nothing else to go on and I feel that there are compelling enough arguments to vote for ldswordpainter. I will keep my vote for her. I'm off to work now, so I probably won't be able to be back on before the round ends.
I'll be back...I just have to go!
I will fish vote for now, and I'll see what's going on?

Whoa, I think the evidence for idswordpainter is very compelling. First, since she hasn't been fired and not posted at all suggests she's the rat or boss. The Ohio clue is pretty big evidence, too. I'm going to vote for lds.

I bust mine so that I can kick yours!
Looking at the diary entries, I've noticed a small discrepancy with the dates. The first one shows Dec. 15, 1805 and talks of dear ol' Jeeves dead by the fireplace. The person WRITING the diary entry has been there for three days(arriving Dec 12th???).
The second diary entry is written on Dec. 1, 1805 (11 days prior to the first entry) and talks about someone arriving at the house after receiving the strange invitation. Was the date mistakenly written as Dec 1 or purposely written that way....hmmm.
The third diary entry was written on Dec 3, 1805 and talks about the man of the house appearing very strange with mentions of a nice feast and stories told at the table. There is also mention of the person writing this entry having been there for only one night.
The final entry was written on Dec 16, 1805 and mentions blood everywhere.....and that the person is the only one left.
Are we being given certain entries as clues after the fact (this whole party and mystery has been completed)? Or are we being led on a wild goose chase. With how thorough our mod seems, it is unlikely that the dates would be mistakes...but what do they mean?
Just thinking out loud.....

The dates could be a mistake, but I'm guessing Bigdawg found something important.
I'm repeating my vote from last round while I think on the LDS info.
One thigh that should be mentioned is that I think the fact that no one was fired shows that our boss is most likely an experienced WTB player. Most newer players tend to fire as many as possible each round, not considering how those firings reflect on who may or may not be the boss.
Mostly just here to play checkers now. You're always welcome to challenge me to a game.

Wow, lots went on while I was at school (I hate it when that happens!)
I think that the evidence comdemming Lds is pretty strong, but I think I will try and figure out something about the dates. Until then, I will vote Lds.
EDIT: LDS has played 19 WTB games before, agreeing with what empy said about it being an experienced player (which I most certainly agree with!). Although, if the boss was experienced, they would probably know that not posting is not a good strategy...
More comdemnation (is that even a word???) for Lds. She loves to write! (which someone mentioned earlier).
As for why no one was fired, I think that the boss did it pretty much just to confuse us (and that certainly is working!). That is what the memo said, and I think that there is probably a lot of truth in it.
Oh! About the dates, Alli-Palli first joined on December 15...I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but it is something! I will stick with my vote for Ldswordpainter, however.

I agree with everybody...LDS might be the rat or the boss. It has to be one of the other.
I don't think she did post this round, and maybe the previous round, but I will have to check out.
Anyways, I will do a little more research, with Gizzer responses is enough, and hope LDS is the boss.

So, we have somewhere around 6 votes for LDS? I don't have any real suspicions for anyone right now, so I'll go with the flow; maybe we can scrounge up a majority and finally clear someone.
eflover: you never say who you're voting for. Are you going with the group, or do you have some other ideas...?

Interesting theories about the dates on the diary entries.
I have been assuming that the diary entries are from an historical incident at Shadow Mansion, not the current game. Evidence of haunting/possession/evil which continues to this day, when our party is held. It was mentioned in the moderator's post (not the diary) that there are cars parked outside the mansion. There would be no cars in 1805.
There may indeed be some significance to the numbers in the dates, but I don't think we can place particular significance on Dec 15. That date comes from Round 0, before the players joined the game, let alone when the computer selected who would play the role of Boss. It would be impossible for grilledcheese to use anything in that first diary entry as a clue. The round 1 entry indicated no clue was given there, so it is only the last entry and this one that have clues.
Edit to add a thought:
The round 2 diary is from Dec 3, and the 3rd word is "this"; the round 3 diary is from Dec 16, and the 16th word is "can"...
Perhaps a message is being provided one word at a time? If so, it may take a while to get the message.
If grilledcheese needs a certain number of rounds to give this hypothetical message, he might have asked the Boss not to fire anyone this round because we lost so many in the first round. Just a thought.

Maybe I am wrong, but hasn't eflover been cleared because she got majority last round and the game is still going on? She could still be the rat, but otherwise, she is cleared. Maybe I am wrong, though, because I get confused with all that technical stuf
EDIT: Gizzer, your thoughts on the dates are very well thought out I see your point about the 15 being before the boss was chosen, so the statement that I made about Alli joining on Dec 15 really isn't valid. I think that the idea that Cam is providing us with a message is really cool, and I will be waiting expectantly for the next word

Hakuna Matata!
Yay! GreenApples is back.
After racing to follow GreenApples's directions and finding him at the bottom of a very dark staircase, I was ready to call it a night! Too much for me, man. I still haven't figured out if he took a wrong turn and fell down the unlit steps, or if he was poking around where he shouldn't, but ultimately that doesn't matter. He had some rather rough scratches, but I used some clean hypoallergenic vacuum filters to stop the bleeding and we hobbled to the bathroom. Once he was cleaned and somewhat bandaged, we slipped back into the dining room. We'd barely taken our seats when someone screamed bloody murder in the hallway!
Six people - DEAD! I barely stifle my own screech (I've never seen a normal dead body, let alone a heap of mangled ones!). I duck behind GreenApples as everyone stares blankly at each other. Could one of us really have done this?

It was a stormy night, which made the situation a little bit worse. What happened was just like a story people make up to make a game have a theme (LOL!). I couldn't believe this was happening. I sat down, rather cold and REALLY sore.
Maybe eflover just has a suspicious air about her.
Wow... So you mean my suspiciousness comes naturally? Nice...
huh. i really dont know who to vote for. im a bit worried about being a lemming. i dont wanna leave the game, so i think i'll fish vote for *ponders* Elios
I think eflover is boss. But in case ldswordpainter is, I don't want to change my vote and lose. So if I am still here next round I will probably vote eflover
Back from work yay!
I stare at the bodies on the floor. I'm quite shocked. I have written about death enough times in my novels, but I have never actually seen dead people. At least not dead people all lying about like this. I've been to a funeral or two, but this is very much a different story. Although I am frightened, a fact I will never let show in front of all these strangers (I have to remember my reputation!), I am also starting to feel a little angry. Curse my stupid assistant for recommending I respond to this invitation! "It's going to be in a huge mansion. Just your sort of place. Who knows what influential sort of person you might meet," she said. I made a mental note to fire her as soon as I returned home. If I did return home. Never again will I ever respond to an invitation from a stranger. Never. This is soooooo beneath me. I'm rich! I'm famous! People from all over the world read my writing! Why should I be subjected to such weirdness? It's just not proper! Ooooh I wish there were someone here to fire!
