I think more people voted than commented then. I dont think the rat comment was a hint just a statement...
Well durn! That was a quick turn-around. Thanks Boss and Mod!
I missed some of the posts after my vote list one last round. It's interesting that people who had been silent for 6 days suddenly posted after that ... And sorry for missing your vote, braingle; I'm lazy and just skimmed for stated names.
I'm a bit suspicious of motherofdragongs now... Directly after I post a list of stated votes, they say they did a "random vote." That doesn't help if we're trying to make a list of votes - we need to know WHO you voted, not just THAT you voted. It makes me think Rat or Boss who has to pretend they voted.
It would be good to be cohesive in our votes now. I'm in agreement with braingle about the non-posters who are still around. Could be they're just voting and not bothering to check chat. (Although I do recall in past games new players saying they didn't realize there even was a chat.) I might investigate those 3 a bit, see if any of them are new. But it's a good place to start, I think.
Edit to Add: OK, all 3 are relatively new. But Cali and Maverick have at least been on recently; Mimi is 2 days off. So I'm going to vote Mimi81678.

Im voting motherofdragons because it seems that they are doing the same thing by not saying who they are voting for.
Also, sorry i didn't comment last round. I guess i didn't know what to say. I actually voted ***** as a safety vote. But i think this round will be a bit more progressive.
Oooops! I had included who just now but then i reread the rules... so yeah

Hmm. motherofdragons kinda does sound suspicious. I'm up to changing my vote. It is however, still early in the round. This game is everywhere, too many possibilities.
To all the new players, for a long time, I used to vote without posting. Nope, don't do that, it doesn't help. If you really have nothing to say, then at least post who you voted for. If you're the boss or rat, still post a fake vote.
As for not knowing about the discussion, the interface has been changed recently. I think before the discussion was difficult to find and not one of the two menus at the top. However, a new player who doesn't know about the discussion doesn't make them more or less likely to be the boss.

Hmm. I dont see how saying who you voted for matters if its a first round random vote. But ill use that in future games since it seems to be the general consensus.
Voting cali because they have not committed either round yet
Well, for one reason, hopo posted first round, didn't state a vote and yet was fired. My first thought is mandatory, but what if they actually voted? If by chance there was a majority then the person they voted for is cleared. But we have no idea how the non posting voters voted so there's nothing to conclude. So yes, it matters.

Heyy ..Sorry for not posting i didn't know what to say haha but anyways i'm suspecting few people but cali has my vote for now
The more I think about my vote on Mimi, I realize I'm either 1) just voting for a non-player that could be a mandatory anyway, or 2) at best, I'm voting for the Rat, which doesn't matter. There is practically no way Mimi could be the Boss as she was inactive when the round started - our Boss is not an inactive.
So I think I'm going to join in on the growing majority on cali522. She's been on Braingle but not posted in here. Could be that she's a new player, and active, but either doesn't quite know how the posting section works or things maybe laying low is the best bet to avoid suspicion. But either way, probably good to try to clear someone. So I have changed my vote to cali.

Aww, haha! Maybe not, FatHead. Maybe we're right and we'll win. Although, I think we need 1 more Cali vote to get a Rat-proof majority, right? 8 players = 5 votes needed - 1 Rat = 6 votes needed. So if Maverick and/or theanimator come on, would you please consider joining in on our vote - and letting us know you did - so we can confirm a clear? (Meaning we had a clear majority, so if Cali is the Boss, we should win; if we don't, people who voted for her should be among the firings.)

Not sure how you reason. A majority of eight is anything greater than half. Half of eight, plus one, equals five. The Rat does not vote.

You're right, the Rat does not vote. But the Rat says they voted. So let's say I'm the Rat and Cali is the boss. If I say I'm voting Cali, I make it look like we have 5 votes, but we really only have 4. Then Cali can sneak past with a false clear (especially if 1 of the other voters stated a vote but either didn't actually click a vote, or they voted someone else). It's been awhile, but I also believe the Boss can choose to vote the Rat if there are too many votes for the Boss; then I could be fired and Cali would definitely look cleared.
Obviously we should have as many votes possible for a clear, but even if we trust everyone's word, we have to be safe and account for the Rat.

If there are 6 employees plus boss and rat, then only 3 real votes are needed for the win provided the other 3 votes are not all for the same person. Which means 5 stated votes are good enough.
Look at last game 3243. 4 employees plus boss and rat. It needed only 2 real votes to win since the other 2 employees didn't vote the same person.

So obviously at least one employee is not voting what that said.... is that what we are getting at? Because 5 people said they voted cali
No, I'm correcting about how many votes are needed for a win, the calculation FatHead did is incorrect.
There are 8 players, which means 6 employees. We need 3 of those 6 to vote boss to win, as long as the other 3 don't tie the vote. Which means counting boss and rat stating fake votes, we need 5 stated votes.
Going from Fintpop's list, we already had the 5 stated votes needed, even if 2 of them are fake. Of course, if it proves that cali, which is most likely, isn't boss, then cali is cleared as boss. This does not clear a player of being rat.
You can see this mechanics is proven by the last game which 2 votes with a total of 6 players (4 employees) won the game.

Oh...i just realized the round doesn't end when we get majority vote like it does in werewolf...ok. got it.
Of course not! If it did, that might be a clue as to the players' identities.

Thanks for the clarifications, braingle! This game has never been my strong-suit. lol I feel like I've lost some games by thinking the total votes just needed to be of the majority of employees rather than the majority of players, but you're right about Game #3243 - 4 employees, with only 2 voting Boss, was enough. (In my defense, though, the players in that game were equally surprised 2 was enough. )
We still have to hope everyone voted as they stated, and also actually clicked the Vote button. But now I think we're well into either winning or clearing:
