The most embarrassing thing that can happen in a band/orchestra is the conductor having to stop the piece because too many people are lost. That happened to my group tonight.

No. My son's school had a band, and he switched the pieces so that the Flute players read the violin sheet etc. Hilarious, but he was punished.

The Dutchman sails the seas
With a bunch of fleas
Drinking all those Beers
With a sail that tears
They have a evil lair
'Cause pirates like some flair.

Pirates don't sail seven seas and battle sirens. They sail oceans and loot crap.

So how many acres of sod do you suppose it took to build a comfortable two room house with a big loft. Or would it be cheaper to build a dug out in the side of a bank? Just doesn't appeal to me to have the livestock walking around on my roof. And how far do you think they put the little two holed shanty away from the house, you know the one they tried to put downwind?

Sometimes you have to listen to that little voice inside. A few months ago, I was pretty desperate for work. I applied to a local grocery chain and was offered a minimum wage job. The hours were good, but the pay and the opportunity to advance were terrible - plus the union dues were way too high given how little I was going to be paid. When the offer came, I just couldn't say yes. Deep down, I knew it would be a bad fit.

I listened to my instinct and then found a temporary position that I have absolutely loved... and that has led me to rediscover what I really want to do with my life. I got full-time employment for three months, decent pay, and gained a lot of work experience that will look great on my resume. I met some great people who were fun to work with. But what I got most of all was the confidence that I don't have to settle - I can soar.

C6H6...NH3...CO...HCN...HCl...all that in cigarette smoke. What are the implications of walking past 10 smokers 5 times a week?

Not sure what responses you expect to get to that question without providing any context. Not everyone looks at chemical formulas and knows what they mean. Myself, my general opinion is that aside from the improbability of passing exactly that many smokers exactly that many times in a week, that the dosage of harmful chemicals in a whiff of secondhand smoke is unlikely to have that great an effect. Having said that, I don't smoke and I wish people wouldn't. It's harmful to themselves and irritating to others, and there are far better ways to spend one's money.

To the title of the thread, I can be pretty "random" at times, though any conscious effort to do so greatly affects the "randomness." I prefer instead to simply enjoy the unexpectedness of everyday life, which presents plenty of "randomness" by itself.
