Piquet is one of the oldest card games still being played. It originated over 500 years ago.
Piquet is played with a 32 card deck. Start with a standard 52 card deck and remove all of the 2s through to 6s. This leaves all of the 7s through to 10s, the face cards, and the aces.
Each game consists of a partie of six deals. During each deal, the payers discard a number of cards and replace them from the remaining deck. Players then declare various features of their hand and play tricks. The player scoring the most points wins (see the scoring section for further details). [Wikipedia]
