Brain Teasers
Standing the Test of Time
Confusing though I may be,
I am always discovered in the end.
I have stood the test of time,
And some still tell of me.
You may see me in different clothes,
But my job never changes.
Throughout the course of history,
I have been devoted to the same
Task.
So, what am I?
I am always discovered in the end.
I have stood the test of time,
And some still tell of me.
You may see me in different clothes,
But my job never changes.
Throughout the course of history,
I have been devoted to the same
Task.
So, what am I?
Answer
A riddle!I thought it might be fun to do a riddle about a riddle.
'Some still tell of me'---riddles have been recycled for ages...and they still have the same effect!
'Different clothes' refers to how riddles are written: some in prose, some in verse, and others written just like a sentence.

Thank you again, deepsea. =)
That is an AWESOME riddle. I found it quite difficult, but the enjoyment is in the challenge isn't it?

I'm glad you got the tree one! It was pretty simple. And congrats on getting this one! I don't think too many people did. I'll make s'more easy ones for ya.

=) Thank you very much, monkeygirl! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
fun!
Thank you very much. Glad you liked it!
That was great, You are right when you say that riddles are recycled! I just came across an anglo-saxon riddle the other day. It managed to stump me even though it was old.
Thank you! It is true, isn't it? Most of the time, the riddles I read here I have heard before, in a different variation. Another proof of the saying, "What goes around comes around!"
Ooh... talk about confusing...
Thanks ziggy!
Hmmmmm...
WOW a really really goood teaser i love it
Different Clothes???? Thought
it may be Santa.
it may be Santa.
A riddle came to mind but I thought "no way would that be the answer", so I started thinking of other things. I finally gave up and low and behold it was "A Riddle". hehehe This was a cool riddle. Loved it. Keep 'em coming.
This was awful. Your explanation to the clothes comment doesn't make sense. It reminds me of Barbara Streisand telling Ryan O'Neill that "morning doesn't spit"
I agree with Katamaster, I think the clues were too vague - the answer could have been lots of other things besides a riddle
This certainly was a puzzle.
this is one of the very few that i ever got. Cool though
Yay! I actually got one!!!!
Great job - thanks for submitting!

Am I the only one who thought it was really vague?
Very good. Now THAT'S a riddle - well written and fun. Thanks! BTW - I, like a previous poster, thought of "riddle" then dismissed it thinking, "that can't be right."
I enjoyed this one, even though it had me banging my head against the wall. Clever, and cute.
Good One. Made me think a while. I thought it was a clock
with different faces, digital,analog
Roman numerals etc. WRONG!
You got me, very creative.
Rose verry sunny here 2day.

RATHER WEAK. VAGUE IS CORRECT.
This is going to my faves
The different clothes hint really threw me off. Good challenge though
WAY over my head, although I enjoyed thinking about it! Loved it!
a little too vague, i think. of course, maybe i just wasn't smart enough to get it.
After the first two lines I was thinking 'riddle' was the answer. I thought that probably popped into my head because I was actually reading one. As I went on, the rest sort of leads you away from that answer. The part about wearing different clothes is quite poetic but does more to pull you toward another answer (an actor?) than to contribute to the riddle.
Not all riddles are discovered in the end, like this one which I didn't get, because it was poorly written.
never would have guessed it
way too tough for my pea brain
Quoting someone "Am I the only one who thought it was really vague?"
Nope. It was rather vague...
Nope. It was rather vague...
Hmm... on second thought.. it wasn't that vague It just wasn't presented well enough --- the sentences were not catchy.. sorry
Wow, what a great riddle! Maybe it was a little vague, but I don't think I could have gotten it anyways - a little too "out-of-the box" thinking for me! I thoroughly enjoyed it though!
good one, keep 'em coming
I was clueless I liked the explanation in the answer...made it make sense to me then.
wow i actually got it! dont ask me how because i never get riddles!
I was surprised that I got the answer because it seemed too inane...very poetic though.
Clever...very clever!
That one stumped me. I just couldn't get it. You got me. Thanks for the post. I really enjoyed trying to figure it out.
Monday~
Monday~
I put death (or, the figure Death), which I think meets all the criteria.
WOW!! That was a kool brain teaser!! I would've never guessed! I mean a riddle about a riddle. You get full credit for that!!! LOL!! Great Job!!!
My guess was "the truth."
In my opinion, the line "I am always discovered in the end" doesn't really make sense, as it would be the answer to the riddle, not the riddle itself, that is "discovered," plus the fact that you can make a riddle without an answer.
