Welcome to the new year, everyone! I hope it's been a pleasant one so far. I'm going to be off soon to catch what glimpse I can of the Rose Parade floats, but I should still be punctual. Indeed, I've even concocted a clue to issue before my departure.
I fear it's too easy, but I always do.
Thank you all for participating. Now let's try and catch the boss before they ruin the new year! So far what boss has predicted sounds horrendous, in my personal opinion.

Why didn't the Libertarian cross the road?

I guess I'll throw in a safety for GA until some more posts are made and we can discuss if we want to form a majority. I'm actually heading out somewhere. I'll probably be back by tonight. Hopefully.
EDIT: Vote is confirmed.

Looks like we have an intelligent boss.on our hands. Except they misspelled countries. Placing my customary Round One vote for caberet.
Shoot me I'm probably a wolf. Especially if caberet is the Mod.

My gut says the Boss is NOT American. I "think" an American would have said the U.S. would stop trading with a large country, not the other way around. My guess, is that the Boss is talking about China. If China stopped trading with us, the U.S. it would hurt the country quite a bit - things are stressed between the two already. Just thinking out loud.

Bored, so I'm trying to solve the clue.
What I have:
The -LXXXIV is 74.
The -san I think means the japanese meaning for a name or adressing of a person.
I think this means that the Black Stream + 600 is a person's name. I can't see where the 74 fits in with all of this... Help!?

Voting for Mathgeek. It's partially a fish vote.
I'll take a look at the clue later tonight, after I finish drawing all the images for an overdue computer science project.
In response to the last post in the previous round: From what I see in the Entertainment forum, softball has great taste in music. A bit too much on the pop side for me, but pretty good nonetheless.
EDIT: On second thought, MG doesn't seem like the kind of person who would wish us "good luck". Oh well. Vote locked in.

we need a majority in the first round, I really dont expect them in this game but prospective mandis provide the perfect cover, I agree with snowy that an american would be a tad more arrogant and say that WE would stop trade and the other way around
also I think we are dealing with a fairly experienced boss because "good luck" doesnt say much and we cant derive sex from it nor age, I will be placing a vote for GA in hopes of getting a majority started
Give a man a match, and he'll be warm for a minute, but set him on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

I was actually offline the whole time that LogicalRoger sent out the memo and accepted it, so technically I can not be boss, but unfortunately my log-in times don't show that... so I remain uncleared.
Also, the last "prediction" kind of resembles Doomsday, which I think is kind of ridiculous...
Fish vote in for Shadows right now. I'll work on the clue later, I'm going out now.

And caberet, the two votes on GA as of now makes another semi-majority.

To me, the boss seems a little older because of their opinions on economic issues and such.

My vote for Shadows was a complete fish vote because I was in a rush and didn't know Days had already voted her. So now that I have read through all the posts I'm going to make a more informed vote...
To be perfectly honest, I DON'T think caberet is the boss, and I am slightly leaning on the possibility Markus is the boss. I know this is dangerous territory because he has his vote stated on me, but I am changing my vote to Markus. There's plenty of time left in the round if Markus is wanting to prevent a double crossing of votes between him and myself. Also, as usual, I am willing to let myself be in a majority this round, so no one shy away from joining the Markus vote in case you're worried I don't want to be in a majority.
As for the clue, I'm currently on my iPhone so there's not much point in me trying to work on it now, but once I get to the PC I'll definitely TRY and work on it.

Hi guys! Sorry for the inactivity. Happy New Year!
First off, safety vote for brainyboy (random). I'm up for an early clearing majority, though, if one forms.
Clue:
"San" is also the number 3 in Japanese. Wondering what the blue colors for "san" and "LXXXIV" could mean.
The picture is Gaz from "Invader Zim". Here is the image link I found on Google.

So the clue is:Black Stream (Kuroshio Current or Black_Stream) + 600 - san (3 in Japanese?) [pic of Gaz from Invader Zim] - LXXXIV (Roman numerals for 84?)
-san suffix ("Mr" "Mrs." or "Miss")
Invader Zim is an American animated television series created by Jhonen Vasquez. The series revolves around an extraterrestrial named Zim from the planet Irk, and his ongoing mission to conquer and destroy Earth. There's a Santa Zim -san = ta Zim?
Black Stream also appears in a song's lyrics: Dead Can Dance Black Stream Lyrics
Where the stars sleep in the calm black stream,
Like some great lily, pale Ophelia floats,
Slowly floats, wound in her veils like a dream.
Half heard in the woods, halloos from distant throats.
A thousand years has sad Ophelia gone
Glimmering on the water, a phantom fair:
A thousand years her soft distracted song
Has waked the answering evening air.

If you google "black stream number", you get a keyboard named black stream keyboard, with the item number 16121....
If you google "Gaz-84" on of the result points to Lisunov Li-2, which was produce at GAZ-84...

I googled "Gaz-84" and found a Wikipedia article on Lisunov Li-2: The Lisunov Li-2, originally designated PS-84 (NATO reporting name: Cab), was a license-built version of the Douglas DC-3.
LR never said if the clue was a Boss/Rat/Employee clue. If it does indeed point to me, it's a Clearing Clue.

Wow so many interpretation for this clue. I have no idea on it or who may be right, who may be trying to mislead us and who is way off base. Will check back in a bit to see what is going on and if we know anything else. Ffor now I will let my vote stand.

Okay, if that's the answer to the clue, then you have nothing to worry about, LR. The clues are hard enough.
I think we should take this as a clearing clue, because LR's style isn't to give a boss clue R1.
Perhaps rat, but definitely not boss. I guess we can assume caberet is cleared?

Been awhile since I've played one of LR's games, but I think you're right about it being a clearing clue. I have never played with Roger before but agree with MathGeek, I think we can assume, anyone who has played/mmodded as much as he has would not give a boss clue straightaway.

I've learned with LR that unless you know the answer to his "questions or clues" you may never solve it. Well, let me rephrase that, unless I know the answer. (That's a compliment, BTW, LR) So, I don't even try, his thought process is miles above mine.

What if the clue clears Mathgeek because it's mostly a math problem?
So, basically, each part of the clue is a number. If we add and subtract the numbers as indicated, we will arrived at a number that will point to someone. Sounds simple enough... but it's an LR clue, so it can't be simple.
English homework awaits me. *sigh*

Does the boss clue clear caberet? Are you going to confirm/deny that interpretation, LR?
