Thanks snow. just as sweet as ever. I think heaven is missing an angel, because you are here.
The boss soinds like an American to me. The answer may be vague but i would say an older person. But that's just a guess. I am gonna wait and see what others think.
I am on my phone right now so sorry if there are errors, my red will have ro wait too.
Stewie.
Edited because I am no longer on my phone and I can now fix the typos. and fix the colour too.

Well I have never heard of ths show "Silk Stockings". I looked it up and apparently it was an American crime drama that ran from 1991-1999.
This would lead me to believe the boss is from North America (assuming only popular shows make their way "Across the Pond". Age wise, again assuming the boss watched it during its first run, I'd say he/she is at a minimum in his/her mid 20s or older.
NOt sure if this eliminates anyone or not but those are my thoughts.
I won't be on a lot after the game starts as we are having about 20 people over to watch it. I have no actual interet in the game, but must be a gracious hostess and hover over my guests an ensure they are well fed and well hydrated.

Never heard of the show either, I'm thinking the boss is American too.
Safetying for now.
Safetying for now.
Voting LH for now, she is American and knowing her age, I'd say she would have been in the "target audience" age range when the show was on.

Thanks for the low-down HABS. I also have never heard of this show. The boss could be narrowing the field significantly with this one.
The "lets rock" in the memo, sounds fairly colloquial. Don't think it sounds too like bradon.
I'm going Elios or nicats based on this.
Voting nicats this round.

"Lets rock" makes me think the boss is on the younger end of the age spectrum that would have watched this show (again assuming they watched it during its original run "was a good show" vs "is a good show" (what one would say if they were watching it in reruns).

Glad we are finally starting.
I have never heard of the TV show Silk Stockings and also don't believe I ever heard the Boston Strangler murders referred to as the silk stocking murders. When I looked up the TV show on Google, it appears the show was actually called Silk Stalkings, not Stockings. Not sure what difference this could make, but I just find it interesting that our murderer wouldn't know the correct title if they actually watched it to declare it "great".
Safety vote for guamgirl.

I have heard of the show "Silk Stockings/Stalkings" but I never watched it; I was a bit young to be interested when it came out (11). My Mom is a mystery/detective show fan and watched many of the 80s-90s shows ("Murder, She Wrote", "Remington Steele", "Scarecrow and Mrs. King", etc and so forth), so maybe that's where I've heard of it from.
The Boss' misspelling of "Stalkings" might just mean s/he didn't remember - for example, I had to check how to spell "Steele" (I thought it was Steal). Although, it being a "great" show is a statement of opinion, but the Boss doesn't say that it's his/her opinion; s/he doesn't even say that s/he actually watched it.
I'll safety for 4wheels for now.

Yes, it has finally started!
Never heard of that show before. Either the boss is narrowing the field to much, or is throwing us for a loop. Cleverly placing suspicion where it doesn't belong. I putting in a safety vote for Jayo. Let's see what happens in the next round. Is anyone going to post a voting list, so we can keep track?

i have absolutely no idea about the show. am not too much into detective stuff anyway, so even if it would have come out in india, i dont think i'd have watched it.
i had placed a safety vote on jayo before moving over to the discussion. will change it to habs, as it looks like all the votes are MoO.
Leo: Hold on. This is gonna hurt. Coach Hedge: I was BORN for HURT!!

I never watched the show. I have heard of it. Based on what HABD posted about air dates I would have been 11-18. At the younger end of the spectrum you can't tell a good show from a bad one. LOL
I do not think everyone just placing random votes is going to help find the boss. We need a majority so we can have a clear. For now I am going to place a safety on bottom of the list.

[color] Well as we all have to work in the morning, everyone bolted as soon as the game was over, so I'm back.
During the original run of the show I was 18-26. Probably the "right" age to be watching the show, but I barely watch TV (probably less than 4hrs a week) and watched even less back then.
I do think LH is right. we need a plan of attack and need to come together to vote.
Maybe the dog only brings the ball back because he thinks you like throwing it.

Well Nicats is the first person to admit to even having heard of the show, my guess is the boss would be among those denying knowing what it is. But then maybe the boss would expect us to think that and therefore willingly admit to knowing the show. Not sure when I'll have a chance to check back in today, but will try to get on at some point before the round ends.
I personally would consider Slammin cleared (potentially) as the show ended before she was born.
Maybe the dog only brings the ball back because he thinks you like throwing it.

I just want to clarify something with you guys.
I'm not exactly sure why everyone always says you need a majority to clear 1st round of WTB.
The rules say:
Therefore, as long as you don't have any mandatories, can't you potentially get two clears with a MoO??
If two people are fired that voted, those two players that they voted for are cleared because of the rule stated above, you cannot be fired if you vote for the boss - therefore if you get fired the person you voted for is not the boss.
We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams.

Skybet. You are correct (in theory). I have yet to play in a game in which thete have not be mandatory firings. But if we are sure the firings were all optional than yes we could clear the player(s) for whom the terminated players claimed to have voted.

I guess it's just a utopian dream...

I think early on in the game, it's safer to clear by majority vote to avoid the confusion that comes with MoO votes. There's just so much to be questioned in MoO voting.
If we do decide on majority voting for this round, I'd suggest starting with those at least alive in the 90s. (Although, Silk Stalkings is available on DVD, so who knows!)
Edit b/c now I've had my coffee and can actually pretend to be coherent.

Gonna just put in a safety this round. Sorry for not getting on sooner, I ended up with some problems with the connection last night and this morning. I have fixed it now though.

Oh and LH. Just for the record, you need to click te link in the allowed formatting part beside the colours and emoticons. Post the URL of the page you want, then type the words you want the link to be.

I'm just glad the theory actually works and its not just my brain imagining it after 10 hours of exponential functions
In that case. Let's go for a majority then. May as well get a clear. I think I will join the elios vote.

Oh wow, I completely forgot to go read the aftermath of that game. *Reads* ....... Woah, woah, what?? I was a Mandatory? I am 100% sure I locked in a vote for Harry that round.... Seems the same happened to HABS. That is a perfect example! (Also, from now on, I'm screen-capping my votes each round to show where it says "Your vote has been saved." )
