Grateful ConvictSituation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.
A man is accused of a misdemeanor, and goes to jail for ten days even though he is only sentenced for five. He has lousy care and isn't even fed every day. He is pretty much alone in jail, and is not repentant nor does he learn anything in jail. However, when he is released, he is happy to have been imprisoned. Why?
