A City In Italy
I was in a city in Italy with two of my friends (Julie and Abigail). We were in a town square with all sorts of old buildings and a big clock tower in the middle. Julie wanted to know the time, but didn't have a watch. Abigail had a watch, but didn't want to tell Julie the time. I knew the time, but Abigail didn't want me to tell Julie and Julie really wanted to know. What did I say that would satisfy both friends?
AnswerI told Julie to look at the clock tower. This way I was not directly telling Julie the time (which would satisfy Abigail) and I indirectly told Julie the time (which would satisfy Julie).
