Cloudy PanicSituation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.
Many uniformed men were running in panic from a green-grey cloud. Who were the men and why were they running away from a cloud?
HintThey were wearing Military uniforms.
The cloud was not your ordinary harmless rain-cloud.
AnswerThey were French soldiers running away from a cloud of dangerous Chlorine gas that the German soldiers had used on the allies as an experiment in April 1915, during WWI in Ypres, Belgium.
Chlorine gas would attack the lungs and cause them to fill with fluid: the poor soldiers would drown or be asphyxiated. After that incident, the soldiers could tell when chlorine gas was around, because the cloud was a kind of grey-green colour.
