Answer
21. Each letter is worth its position in the alphabet. Only the first 3 letters add their value to the word.JAP = J(10) A(1) P(16) = 27
FRA = F(6) R(18) A(1) = 25
GER = G(7) E(5) R(18) = 30
AUS = A(1) U(21) S(19) = 41
BRA = B(2) R(18) A(1) = 21

I think your solution is somewhat random. To assign value to only the first three letters seems obscure to me. I like the premise, though.
Not necessarily. In many areas the first three letters of a country are used as the abbreviation unless they coincide with some other country. Then there is a small, limited military engagement where the winner gets to choose the abbreviation letters of the losing country and then cast aspersions regarding the losing country's restaurants and driving skills. (Well the first part is right anyway. )
Now you're being random, fishmed.
You could call it that, i guess. I kinda like it myself...
That's right fishmed! I used the first 3 letters as they are usually abbreviated, such as AUS, and FRA . Glad you liked it!
Why does everyone seem to like that wink ?
I liked it! Good job! ( I love the emoticon!) ( and the ! sign. )
