Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
A driver drove past two police officers. They had their radar guns ready to check his speed. At the same moment in time, one officer's said 100 and the other's said 161. How can this be?
Hint
They are from different countries.Answer
The first officer's measured in miles per hour and said 100 miles per hour, while the second measured in kilometres per hour and said 161 kilometers per hour.Hide Hint Show Hint Hide Answer Show Answer

I thought maybe one of the radar guns was broken...
Where the guns shot at two different times.
cool one:d
Neat trick...
good one. You got me on this one.I was way off.
Actually, 100 mph is 161 kph.
i think you should have added that they read those speeds "...at the same time" just to clarify
I don't know if this happens or if it would even work, but it could be that one cop was driving at 77 mph and the other was just sitting there. It makes more sense than two cops from different countries clocking some guy.
That is wrong.
One mile is approx. 1.6 kilometres, thus 177 would be approx. 110 miles/hour

what's the big deal of two different countries? just say that they were using different measurements. one in kph and the other in mph. what about different countries??
it was a little easy and the hint kinda gave the answer away.
Yet it was fun

wow - that's one of the few times that i've actually found it useful to be from australia and not from america in one of those teasers. as soon as i saw the 100 and 161 i knew that it was in miles and kms - though i thought that one mile was worth 1.63kms, not 1.61 (and i do realise it doesn't really matter)
BORING!
I did need the hint...
Who would ever expect two officers from two different country (one using metric system and one using the foot) measuring speeds together, each with their own radar gun?
But with the hint it was no big deal!

Easy, but fun. I like it!
