Brain Teasers
Dragnet
Sgt. Maloney of the L.A.P.D. got a 911 call from the dispatcher just moments ago. Someone reported hearing two men arguing and then gunshots. Maloney sped to the scene, and seeing nothing unusual outside, he cautiously entered the house through the open front door with his gun drawn. He found a man in a paramedic's uniform leaning over a man who was obviously dead or mortally wounded from a severe gunshot wound to the face. Sgt. Maloney paused for a brief moment. Then he ordered the paramedic up against the wall and began to read him his Miranda rights while handcuffing him. What are at least two reasons Maloney had for suspecting foul play?
Answer
There was no ambulance outside the residence; no one had reported the presence of a wounded victim, so an ambulance wouldn't have been dispatched yet anyway; it is protocol that paramedics never enter a potentially hazardous situation until police have secured the scene; and where was the paramedic's partner?Hide Answer Show Answer

I noticed the part about no ambulance being outside, but didn't think of the other reasons. I thought for a minute that the "paramedic" could just have been off duty, but I guess he wouldn't have been in uniform. Anyways, fun teaser Rows!
lol I really liked this one.

Not bad Rows.
That was a really good one! Way to go Rows!
I liked it!
great one, rows!!
I don't understand the title....
"Dragnet" was the name of an old TV show about police detectives who worked in L.A.
Good one. The the person pretending to be a paramedic may not the one who actually shot the person since he could have had an accomplice and that person ran out the other door or just hid. He could have kept silent.
Good point username. Either way, Maloney suspected foul play and arrested the person for questioning.

Fun teaser!
Good teaser! I noticed that there was no mention of an ambulance also but then there was also no mention that there wasn't one so that kind of threw me off.
Good teaser...but I have a question...what kind of random weirdo just wanders around in a paramedics uniform?
Although, in theory, I suppose he could have just gotten off work and not changed out of his uniform...?

Perhaps a weirdo who is also trying to get away with murder?
wheres the paramedics partner? he's lying wounded on the floor bleeding to death.
where's the ambulance? the guy who shot the wounded paramedic stole it and drove away (and it was in fact him that the call was about)
oh and in case people are wondering, it was the ok paramedic that made the call

you're right sweettime although I think it was a hard explanation
I was heading in that direction myself Sweettime!!
Nice answer, I used to watch dragnet. Good job.
i thought it was the parametic because he was the only othr person there!lol
Imagine a Paramedic leaning over a victim whose injury is certain. What he should have done was covered the body. That would have been the act of a real paramedic.
