How is it possible that 3 + 4 = 5?

Answer

Using VECTORS

i.e. 3 m North + 4 m East
= 5 metres North East

3^2 = 9
4^2 = 16
9 + 16 = 25
SQ Root of 25 = 5

RushHour1049 Aug 19, 2004	Pony, a vector is a length, like 3 inches. In this case, he is using a 3 inch pencil, a 4 inch pencil, and a 5 inch pencil to make a triangle.

mercenary007 May 04, 2006	This is stupid... yes the answer makes sense but the last time I checked I'm not psychic... clearly anyone would think that you're talking about just 3 and 4 and not the directions. This shouldnt even be "logic" cuz there is no way to logically work that out. This should be at best a "trick" teaser. This is almost as stupid as saying how can 1 = 1000? because 1 kg = 1000 grams. That is STUPID
vg674 Feb 14, 2008	It takes a bit of logic to think of the connection from one set of numbers to another set of numbers without any background information. It could belong elsewhere, but it seems fine as is. Pythagorean triples. Fun.
