Brain Teasers
Long Distance
Two people are talking on the phone long distance. One is in an East Coast state of the U.S., the other is in a West Coast state of the U.S. The first asks the other, "What time is it?" He hears the answer and says, "That's funny. It's the same time here!" Neither one of them were mistaken about the time. How is this possible?
Hint
Think about time zones.Answer
One is in Eastern Oregon (Mountain time); the other in Western Florida (Central time), and the phone call takes place on daylight-savings-time changeover day at 1:30am.Hide Hint Show Hint Hide Answer Show Answer

Really enjoyed this one. Even used it at the start of a Safety Meeting at work. I believe you could even be more specific, by saying it occurred in the Fall (and all of Florida was back on Standard Time.) Doug22 from Canada
Very good teaser Pop ! Now, show us some more *gimme gimme*
Tricky! I was thinking about New Year's or something...I am dinghy, I admit it...I'm better at logic grids...no really I am!

awww, i thought the guy in the east coast delayed for 3 hours until he said that.
I was thinking "dinner" or "supper" time. A lot of people have "dinner" at the noon hour and a lot in afternoon/evening. They would both be right......
Just a thought.
Good teaser. I never would have thought the correct answer up. Didn't know about the Eastern Oregon time zone.

I like this one, but the specifics are kinda passing me up... never mind, i just looked at a time-zone map, thats a really good one because those are the only two states it would work in. But this would have to be in fall, not spring.
and in the fall at 20 AM it becomes 10 AM on the first sunday... wouldn't an hour later be 20 which should be changed to 10 again? ;) just something to think about
