No, the correct answer is 100

to arij, explain. geomtrically speaking,a circle is the only closed one-sided figure. nice play on words

Jul 02, 2004

actually, the more logical answer would be that it is has ifinite sides. This is easy to see considering the fact that you can use that logic to derive the area of a circle from the area of a regular polygon.

This play on words does not belong in the math section, but in Tricks or perhaps Language.
And if you insist on continuing the play on words, cut out a circle from a piece of paper and count the sides: 2.

Besides the fact that you are wrong, that probably took you only 1 minute to conceive and post.

It's a joke.. a play on words...hence the category trick, not math. Lighten up people, it's not like he was trying to say that was the real answer. I think he probably knew that that wasn't what it really was. I thought it was funny and i don't think you committed any sins to the Geometry god or something. Keep up the good work.

he had me! I was saying 1: the side that went all the way around. I was way off compared to the answer some of you gave like 100!

Way to go!
Good teaser!

i did this a month ago, and i got it wrong again.

Problem is, this apparently does have two answers. Either the true answer (1), or the figurative answer he provides (2). Since we have on way to distinguish which one he wants from the original teaser, this one poops out.

from what my geometry teacher taught us, a circle has 1!!! side.

clever though

I think my two year old niece could have figured that one out. That has nothing to do with math by the way. Maybe you should try again with a better teaser.

Hm. Circle Logic? Sorry, I don't think so. A circle has an infinite amount of sides. :3

thats was really tricky

Feb 23, 2007

This was a silly question. The answer should actually be infinity, becasue there are an infinite number of POINTS in a circle.
cooltigerr1Aus*
Mar 31, 2007

this was really st-up-id i guessed it right too... figures
zeepuzzlemasterca*
Nov 25, 2007

I could be infinite or two.

Infinite is correct

However, a circles is not a polygon because the definition of a polygon is an enclosed figure with a definite number of line segments.

way to easy ive heard it a million times
