Brain Teasers
Clumsy Fred
Clumsy Fred dropped a book and it fell open to two pages. If the product of the two page numbers is 90, then what are the pages showing?
Hint
Remember, it is a trick!Answer
Either Fred can defy perspectives and see both sides of a single sheet of paper or the book was made wrong. The answer would be pages 9 and 10, but in a book, the even page is always on the left side (and has to be the lower number). That would make pages 9 and 10 be the same sheet of paper!Hide Hint Show Hint Hide Answer Show Answer

She is asking for the square root of 10712. Figure that out within 5 minutes and no one is allowed to call you a dummy.
Directed toward that^ post
First of all, I am a HE, and second of all, you have to find two consecutive factors, not th square root.

Awesome teaser, thompson1! I got out a pencil and paper, and then thought, "Trick, not math." But I still didn't get it. Great teaser!
what the flip??
That wasn't very difficult. Either that or I'm a weirdo.
Good one! *Note to self - check category first*
That was pretty good! It was also pretty easy. Like you said, just two consecutive numbers, which made a lot of sense. I don't see how finding the square root would do anything, lol!
But, good job!
But, good job!
Good one! Sort of easy, I guess...You would probably have to know that beforehand or you'd never know.
I knew it was a Trick one but for some reason i still went with the maths thing
How about 8 and 1339, and pages 9-1338 have been torn out of the book.....
It's not always neccesarily true about the even numbers being on the left side.
I didn't know this, so you've teached me something new! Good job!
Smart Alleck, I actually checked every single one of my books, and it's true. I heard this somewhere before, but I never believed it. Now I'm on a mission to make a book that defies this rule...

nice one but it was alittle hard for me math isnt my thing
it's hardly fair to want an answer that doesn't exist in life.....
Nice one.
thats a goody :
boring
The square root helps you because it puts you in the neighborhood of the numbers you're looking for - the Square Root of a number is going to fall between the two consecutive numbers that it is the product of. The Sq Rt of 10712 is 103.49879... amost exactly halfway between 103 and 104
Yeah, the square root would help.
That was a good teaser - it required turning on our math brains, while at the same time, being wary of any lurking tricks.
A nice one, I say!

Hahaha it wasnt till i read the comment that sadi ud changed it from 7012 (or something like that) to 90 that i stopped wondering what the flip (yey! wtflip!) people were talkin bout, oldie but a...nahi stickin with oldie lol but i still liked it, bit annoying how u asked for an answer that wasnt the answer though. was wondering why every1 found it so hard to find the 2 consecutive numbers that multiply to equal 90

Answer:Words
I would neverr get it! But it's so fun making my brains hurt trying! Good work!
what?
So you acknowledge there is no answer to your riddle? I need to start submitting riddles then if they don't have to have answers.
there is an answer. the answer is "page numbers." Clearly the pages are showing their page numbers or else no one would be able to take their product.
Meh... I said "words"... books normally have them on their pages.
i was going to say he gould be reading manga, but i checked my mangas and the even page is still always the lower one
