Brain Teasers
Chair, Lamp or Table
You're out shopping one day and you see several items you would like to buy, but sadly you can afford only one of them. Which of the following items can you buy with 2 ponies, 1 mother hen, and 3 squid?
Chair: £72
Lamp: £63
Side Table: £69
Chair: £72
Lamp: £63
Side Table: £69
Hint
What country are you buying them in?Answer
The lamp. The odd currency you are carrying is English money. Pony is slang for £25, mother hen is slang for £10, and squid is slang for £1. In total, the amount you have is £63, so you can afford the lamp.

got it - just guessed the cheapest one...
Haha, I didn't "get" it but I got it right becuase I guessed the lamp, which costs the least.
I'm british, and i've never heard of any of those. The closest i've heard to it is 'Sick Squid' which is for 6 pounds, but i've never heard squid used on its own...
Well that's where the "sick squid" comes from.. one squid, one quid... sick squid, six quid (although not official i don't think, if any are...)
I just chose the lowest one.
So that's what they mean when they say 100 squid on your "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" Nice one.
Adding this to my favorites
I don't know all the British currency, being American, but with three squid, (with a name like that, obviously the lowest denomination!) it couldn't be the 72 pound one. And a 1 pound note was a lot more likely than a 3 pound note. Ergo the lamp.
im not British =D
