Too Hot
You are presented with an extremely hot object (around 500 degrees F). You are also given a pair of heatproof gloves (up to 300 degrees F before disintegration), a cup of water in a bucket, and 20 average sized ice-cubes.
How do you get the hot object down to room temperature (68-72 degrees)?

Ummm, so where's the trick? Where's the teaser?? This one's way too easy!
The trick is to look past the gloves, water, ice and bucket. If your brain starts out with the KISS approach, there's no trick at all, but any number of people don't think that way. Enjoyed the teaser.
I agree. I was thinking that you would put the ice cubes on the object, wait until it gets to 300 degrees, then put it in the water and wait until it gets to room temperature.
I agree with the first comment. karenokupniak must have gotten hers in as I was writing mine.
That was way too easy and obvious!
hmmm... what exactly was the point with that?? doesnt exactly make you think...
I got it right but after that i started to think what i would have done with the supplies i was given. I would have put half the ice cubes in the bucket and waited a little till the water was cooler and then dumped the water on it. Next i would have put the ice cubes left on the hot object. After that just wait 4 it to cool down the rest of the way.
Thanks for all the great comments so far. Unklemyke if you want harder teasers look at ones with harder ratings.....
Besides guys this is my first ever teaser.

I thought is was quite clever! Sure, it was easy, but it was fun to.
God first teaser
Edit: I meant good
Nice trick. I said wait, but I was going to use the cup of water in the bucket, add the ice and have a nice drink while I waited
pretty good teaser
i kept thinking on how to use the bucket and all the other stuff

I like teasers that don't hurt my brain, that is what school is for!
1.yea well i don't think that the table that someone(whoever it is ) gives it to you will stand strong enough
2. even if they put it on the ground the ground will most likely melt
3.even if the ground doesent melt it will probably be set on fire
4. even if it doesent get blown to bits why would they give you such a thing like that
5. the hint gave it all away
6. why would you just wait u can actually pour water on it and cool it down same with the ice
7. you can put on two gloves at a time and hold it with one hand
8.u didn't define the size of the object
9.depending on the thing it is made of, it takes different amounts of time to cool
10. most objects turn into liquid at those temperatures so it would probably be a puddle
11.of it could turn into a gas and u could not see it at all
12.the gas might be poisonous
13. this is just plain wierd

Wow wierd
funny but the hint gave it away
rock star you r such a nerd by the way my email is [email protected]
Very easy. Xlrfreak, you shouldn't give out personal information like email.
Rockstar, Re:your comments # 2,3, &7 - You need to go back to chemistry class -41 0f the first 71 elements in the periodic table have melting points higher than 500 degrees C. - (multiply by 1.8 and add 32 to get degrees F.) so, no, most things are NOT going to be puddles at 500 F. Most kitchen ovens can be set above 500 F. 500 F is just slightly higher than the ignition point of PAPER, for pete's sake (Remember Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451?) so you don't have to worry that setting a 500 degree object on the ground will initiate the China Syndrome - do your homework before your next rant!
yep, piling on Rockstar.
here's your homework assignment.
1)preheat oven to 500..or at least as high as it goes.
2) throw a couple of tater tots in on a backing sheet.
3) Bake for 15 minutes.
4) take out tots and throw them on the floor/ground, whatever.
5) let me know if the ground starts on fire

ugh...that should read "baking sheet"
Nice one vikingboy
Saw that coming Or you could poor the water and ice on the object.
Way too easy, once I read it, I knew it. Enjoyed it though. Full star!
That was a good teaser, it was pretty easy though.
(p.s) rockstar is very very very very very very very very very wrong, he is not very smart either

Thanks to Rockstar I am going to submit a correction for my teaser to suit his *needs*.

By the way if the new correction goes through it will replace "object" with piece of lead, and so you all know lead melts at 621.5 degrees F.
cheesepie, I don't think a correction is necessary. As stated before, the temperature isn't that extreme. The size doesn't matter. Having two gloves on just means they will disintegrate one at a time, it doesn't increase the heat resistance of whatever material they are made of.
Hey, now I feel stupid. Oh well it was late. Besides I already submitted it might as well. Thanks for the comment though. I totally forgot about the thing with gloves that you pointed out.
Ha Ha! That was good!!
the hint gave it away for me.
wy not put in the ice cubes and it will cool down faster
Great teaser!
Don't listen to rock star.

You bet
duh U could also put it in cold water
yeah i got it lol rockstar missed snacktime lol
But what if it's indefinetly hot???
well, that was REALLY obvious. no offense.
Yea it was easy, but i give it 7 thumb up!
You have seven thumbs?
Some people take these teaser very seriously! I did not, and I found it quite enjoyable.
Adding to the Rockstar Flame:
What good would putting two gloves on one hand do? The top one would quickly disintegrate leaving the bottom one to disintegrate as well. What, you think that doubling up on gloves would make them good to 600 degrees? LOL idiot.
