Brain Teasers
The Snowman...or Not
One day in December, a boy decided to make a man out of the substance around him. He used a carrot as a nose, and gave his man a black hat. But unlike others of its kind, the boy's creation never melted. Even when it got very hot, the boy's creation stayed in perfect condition, until it got knocked down. Why didn't the boy's creation melt?
Hint
Think about where the boy lives.Answer
The boy lived in Florida, and he made a man out of sand. A December in Florida is not cold enough to bring snow, so he made a "snowman" out of what was around him. Notice I never referred to the sandman as a snowman.Hide Hint Show Hint Hide Answer Show Answer

Much too easy. Also, Florida isn't the only place with no snow during winter. It is winter here in California, but it is around 90 degrees out during day today. I was think of something more like mud to make the makeshift snowman, but sand can work too (if it is wet).
I got it! it was pretty easy. I agree, it could have been in another warm place
Very festive. Cute!
You know you could have just made the boy live in Australia or something since December is a summer month in the Southern Hemisphere...
Simple but fun. I've never tried to make a sandman.
yeah, there are a ton of places other than florida and i tried to make a 'sandman' and its pretty hard to do and it could be made out of other things than sand.. like mud or something
that was easy and fun!! good teaser!!
I loved that one!
In California it can snow... up North where some of my relatives live fun teaser. Kinda hard though, kinda easy too!
I live in Florida, I got this one easily
ptebob that is rude just because you pobably got it wrong doesn't mean you hav to make a hassle out of it
you said "unlike others of its kind", so does that mean that other sandmen melt?
No, it means snowmen melt.
i thought it was pretty good
Really easy. At first, I thought it was a man made out of leaves, but I got it.
That is soooo cute!! I loved it! Make more!
Wouldn't it also work if he made a snowman but he lived in like Alaska or somewhere else where it's cold enough for snow in the winter?
Sorry, I meant summer.
lol

i was saying that he made him out of mud and the sun would only dry him out and make him like stronger (less runny) but then i remembered this is a trick question...and went with sandman.
lol me likes
I knew it was made of something that isnt snow.
Imagine if he made one indoors!

Nice. I was right, but I thought it was in California, not Florida. I've made a sandman. Not as easy as it sounds. Good job.
I thought about somewhere in the south, where it doesn't usually snow during winter. I thought the boy had used fake snow or something...
in the teaser u never mentioned anything about florida!
Easy, but really sweet. That was a great one!
i just dont like it, no challange!
hey.
no offence, but i think saying 'the substance around him' makes it soooooooo obvious its not funny.
nice try though...

Hey, Kayla
Hey, Kayla
The title gave it away
Way too obvious when you said "the substance around him" instead of just plain snow
Way too easy, but fun! Very Fun!
Living in the Philippines, it's way to obvious.
But still...
But still...
I thought he just made it out of the dirt under the snow...
Haha!! I live in south GA, so this one was no problem for me. Great teaser!!
I thought he used playdough...
How did I know he lived in Florida, not Nevada, Africa, etc.
Nice teaser nevertheless.
Nice teaser nevertheless.
Easy, as I live in CA. It's a good teaser. The only problem is that sand wouldn't stay together long enough to make a snowman.
I thought he used Play-Doh.
he could of built it with snow......................in artica or antartica
"But unlike others of its kind"
Technically snowmen are not "of the same kind" as sandmen. So for the statement to be true, sandmen would have to melt.
Legitimate answer could be made a snowman in the freezer at home.
