Pay it Off
Logic puzzles require you to think. You will have to be logical in your reasoning.
Using only three bills, and not using a $10 bill, how can you pay a person $35 that you owe?
HintThe three bills are two $20s and a $5 bill.

Answer
You pay the person $40 using two $20 bills. Then the person pays you back $5, using a $5 bill. You paid $35, and three bills were used.

I thought of giving a $50 and a $5 and they give you back a $20.

Better if you clearly specify the available bills.

I like this one; very fun! Just one thing, though: I think it belongs in the "Trick" category, instead of logic. We naturally assume one person has to use the three bills when in fact you can exchange bills with your creditor. Just a small detail .

I thought they used a check, and the bills were on the hats they were wearing. Well, that's two, and there was a duck in the room. There. Perfect. Good teaser!

The question asks, "Using only three bills...", not "Using three bills and anything else you can think of...". Hence, quarters, hats and ducks are banned!
