Fresh Meat
Several hundred summers ago, a band of explorers were embarking on a sea journey to the far north which would last for three weeks. When they arrived, they planned on having a celebration of roast lamb. The problem they faced was keeping the meat fresh for three weeks. If they tied a rope to the meat and trailed it in the cold water, predator fish would eat it. If they took ice and snow with them to keep the meat cool, the ice and snow would melt and the ship would fill with water. How could they keep the meat fresh until they arrived at their destination?

Salted or pickled meat is not fresh in the same sense that frozen or refrigerated meat would be. Good puzzle.

OUTSIDE da ship..n AWAY frm da fish(hang it)so as soon as ice melts the water will go into sea..
N by da way the answer given in this riddle is wron...
Cuz the meat is needed FOR 3 weeks...n not AFTER 3 weeks...once u kill da lamb 4 meat ull hav 2 preserve it in sum way...cuz u cant use meat of lamb n keep da lamb alive at same time...!!!

Oh the contrary Mr Solution. The journey they embarked on would last 3 weeks. Once they arrive they were having the celebration that the lamb would be used for.
It does not say they need the lamb meat to stay fresh for 3 weeks after slaughter.
As for the other comments, I thought about salt, but disregarded that answer because salt preserves. It was asked how to keep the meat fresh, not preserved. I see keeping something from spoiling long term as something different from it being "fresh."
