First, I use FireFox and have found it easier for me to leave Braingle open on Firefox and open Internet explorer up to link from. I've been told if you just use IE, it is ok to just find the item you want to link to Braingle and follow these instructions and it works:

#1. Go to the site that you want to link to on Briangle
#2. Copy the WHOLE URL all the way from the http:// to the last word/letter/number
#3. Go back to the page you want to post the link and In the "Allowed Formatting:" area under the smileys, click the word link
#4. Paste the URL in the allowed block
#5. Press Ok
#6. Name the link WHATEVER you want
#7. Click Ok
#8. Voila, you will have a link posted. You DON'T have to do anything else other then just hit Post Reply.

You should see your named link underlined when you post it. If you have any problems, or don't understand what I'm saying, let me know. I'll go over it again.
