SI units = metric system
Thanks for the positive feedback everyone!
I'm learning about cell biology right now, and we were talking about glucose and cellular respiration and mitochondria, so I got that hammered into my head and got that wrong. Besides that, A!!! All right, had to use wikipedia to find out how to spell Gagarin. Cool quiz!
ok, SI= Metric system, but WHY? What does SI stand for? Scientific something, I'm sure but I can't think of a word starting with I that makes sense. When I was in Jr High, we called this the metric system or scientific notation. We called the Foot/Pound system, the English System but I suppose that's called something else now, too.
I think the powers that be change the names of things every 15 or 20 years so they can sell new books (and confound parents trying to help their kids with homework)
SI- International System, but the French translation of it.
And I'm currently in high school. UV rays is a high school topic. Only visible light is taught in most places around the world in the 7th grade.
I would have liked some explanations on the answers...I've been outta school way too long to remember this stuff!! Otherwise it was a fun quiz! Good job ![]()
OK Quiz but better explanations would have been helpful for some of the questions! Also, you know Americans are not the best when it comes to things outside of our culture
, therefore how could I know that SI meant the metric system?

7/10... which is pretty bad for someone IN middle school.
To blackeve5: I don't know how anyone would know, but it was in our science book
The French for SI = Systeme International de Unites, I think.. and we did learn a little UV in 7th grade.
Rats!!!!!!!! I need to learn how to spell. Evbery spelled question wrong!!!! ![]()
and my daughter was born on July 20. Armstrong's first moonwalk. Darn - I posted above without finishing my thought!
