11/12--missed courgette; this French major and teacher had never come across zucchini before!! Excellent quiz!
boodler, don't be so sensitive. I seriously doubt paladin meant anything derogatory. Maybe lightheartedly being facetious at worst.
Anyway, how about a "northern" English terminology quiz next time to add a bit of real fun? Aye up! ![]()
Great quiz.
Lots of information. Thanks!
I, too, missed ourgette & suspenders
I've been to England (for two weeks) and watch most the English mysteries, plus some series; so I thought I'd do better than that. ![]()
missed the corguette and abergine. Reminded me of when we lived in England when my hubby was in the AF. Lots of fun, thanks, ![]()
fun quiz--my dad being a university prof afforded us many opportunities to travel and explore other cultures. Boodler--too bad that is the impression most Brits have of Americans, because it couldn't be further from the truth for me and most people I know. ![]()
I missed the courgette and suspenders, but got the rest of them. Love England, my son lived there for 12 years on and off. Great quiz.
i'm english and I only got 11 out of 12.... suspender belts??? i mean come on!! good quiz tho ![]()
Pip pip cheerio: missed the courgette, never heard of it. Got 11 out of 12 though, 35 yrs of watching coronation street comes in handy!

i agree with tigersrule, suspender belts is a synonym with braces to us,and garters are called garters (we are enlgish too, although living in australia). Alot of colloquial english language also depends on the region of england its from, different areas will have different slang. but overall this was a tip top quiz! jolly good show old chap ![]()
As I am English I suppose 100% wasn't a surprise! Off to eat Bangers and Mash in my flat!
